Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Nowadays just about every female in the first world from teenage onwards has a camera, sound equipment (I-things and their ilk).
My own teenage girl also has lots of sports equipment (watersports) and her own toolbox with lots of electronic components and her own soldering iron. Sheâs not keen on clothes shopping, and hates shoe shopping (with an exception for her recently acquired Doc Martens boots).
Calvin is a very silly little boy (and so is anyone who falls for gross gender stereotyping).
Hereâs to puttering! I canât wait to retire so I can get my own jobs done. I have so many projects in mind I donât think Iâll ever get them all done.
I recall looking into Momâs old B52 Bomber riveter toolbox with calipers, micrometers, sliderule and all sorts of high-precision instruments inside.. just now recalling this, iâm re-impressed.
itâs even better for guys today, a grown man can unironically waltz into the âgirlâsâ toy section at any toysrus and actually find my little pony toys made for their demographic. Itâs like society actively encourages immaturity among men.
I always love these battle of the sexes clashes between Calvin and Susie.
You have to feel sorry for Calvin; he never winds up on top regardless of who his opponent is: Hobbs, Susie, Moe, Mrs. Wormwood, Mom or Dad. He never seems to win.
And in a sense this strip is true. My wife claims that I have no inner child: itâs all on the surface. I donât have all the âtoysâ but I enjoy acting like a kid. Thatâs why I like having grandchildren: it actually gives me an excuse.
Maybe itâs just me, but I think there is a greater level of maturity in placing a higher priority on enjoying life and playing, than in oneâs appearance.
The most amazing thing about that is that women seem to actually view spending loads of time and money on decorating themselves as mature and grown up. And, even worse, many guys believe them. At least the guys are honest and admit that they are just fooling around.

Yeah, I occasionally buy T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatshorts, sweatpants, hiking boots and Ugg boots. You got a problem with that?

My wife plays with cars, sports equipment, and cameras. I handle the stereo and computers and tools. Teamwork!

Whatâs buying clothes got to do with maturing? Even when theyâre little, girls actually enjoy getting Clothes for Christmas and birthday presents!

I just noticed; In the last panel, Calvinâs looking directly at the viewers, as he makes his statement. Calvin is aware of his Comic Strip status.

Perhaps menâs shorter life spans have something to do with âputteringâ?

Calvin not only wouldnât stand being a girl, he wouldnât even survive being a girl, especially during the teen years.
