Vitamin wasn’t lying… He was scared!

And here comes the scam!

Finally, we get a little hint at where this is going

I’m going to repeat 2 comments I made late, last night::1st: “Personally, I thank SDM (and/or) anyone else that lets me know that someone I may have cared about passed away. Brings back a lot of memories from my past. A lot of times, they are happy ones & solicit a smile.”

2nd:I’ll always remember this story about this fine lady. Lillian Gish was to be interviewed alongside the latest “rising star” in Hollywood, Molly Ringwald:From PEOPLE magazine:“Lillian Gish was in a dither. In honor of the expected guest, who was invited by PEOPLE, she had put on her best opal necklace and a sumptuous velvet skirt. “And you say the young lady’s name is Molly Ringwald?” she asked excitedly as she set out cookies. “And we are to talk about the difference between actresses then and actresses now? Oh, dear, I hope I won’t bore her.” She didn’t get the chance—La Ringwald never arrived. The carrot-topped teen, who achieved quickie celebrity in Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink, stood up the 86-year-old grande dame of the movies, the superstar of Hollywood’s first masterpieces; D.W. Griffith’s The Birth of a Nation and Intolerance. The appointment was for noon. Miss Gish waited patiently until almost 3 p.m. Then she said sadly, “I guess she doesn’t care because I’m old.” Some hours later Ringwald sent a dozen roses, along with an excuse that to a lady of Miss Gish’s generation sounded like another insult: “Just as I was leaving, I smashed my hand in the door, and I had to put some ice on it to keep it from swelling. Then…I couldn’t find a taxi, and when I finally did, I didn’t have the right address.” Meanwhile, to pass the time, Miss Gish regaled her company with lively memories of movieland.”One glamorous lady & one forgettable (insert your own word here)!FlagReply

Yesterday, someone mentioned the passing of Frank Marth. Reading up about him, I found that he played various characters in The Honeymooners, including the off-screen narrator of Norton’s favorite TV show, Captain Video. And that brings us back to Silver Nitrate and his “deal.” (Flintheart looked good as a young man.)

Young Vitamin cuts a trim figure as a cowering Video Ranger! And Silver has “restored” just the right fragment to hook an egotistical fish. So, how much is it going to require from Vitamin “to restore the rest of the film”? It’s a simple con, but Vitamin seems like the perfect mark for it. I doubt Mary will be able to dissuade him (if she even tries)….

And so far, Mary has been extremely quiet, save for a handful of very ineffective words…

Uh-huh… Ordinarily, the response would be, “Well, good luck to ya, Mr. Nitrate – have a nice day!” But, we need a story line and something for new villians to do.

First, the bait, then the hook — SIlver’s an old pro at this game.Just remember, the losers get a dinner date with Lena.

Incidently – I’m thinking Silver named his pet Lena, in part, for the silent film star character played by Jean Hagen in “Singing in the Rain,” Lena LaMont.(And yes, I know Lena the Hyena, Al Capp, Basil Wolverton, etc.)

It’s kinda like the Blood Pressure ad that is displayed on this page. They talk for hours and never get to the point unless you give them your credit card #…..Silver Nitrate is probably running this scam..

I am probably going to get bashed for admitting this:I always thought Molly Ringwald was hot back in the day (I have this thing about red hair). Sixteen Candles is still one of my favorite 1980’s films.(runs for cover)

Nitrate’s scam is gonna work on Vitamin. Flintheart is too egotistical not to want the film. Mary will try to intervene but won’t be successful. She may be a potential dinner date for Lena.

Mac Tonight and Silver Nitrate… separated at birth?Maybe they’re both related to Méliès.

Jonathon K: Thanks for the Big Mac logo! That was always my favorite McDonald’s character, though I never cared much for the sandwich!.But, back in the day, I would have a double quarter pounder with cheese, with the instructions: Dress it like a Mac!

Me, too. Unless Lena comes into play, it might end as boring as it started. To borrow a famous quote from SDM, “Z-z-z-z-z-z-z”.

Hope this is not another “short” story. Looks interesting though!!!
