Halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, Groundhog Day probably descended from the Celtic holiday Imbolc. Light candles. Make a bed for Brighid. Have Winky milk the ewes.
True story. We were camping once long ago. Wife saw a groundhog, but in her excitement couldn’t say groundhog or woodchuck, so it came out “groundchuck”. We never let her forget it either.

Sorry Brewster, the groundhog is named Phil, not Carol.…and he doesn’t sing.

The groundhog’s probably pregnant, and making a nest under somebody’s computer console.

Are singing groundhogs any better than singing chipmunks?

The groundhog is not missing, It is in the meat freezer right next to the ground beef and the ground turkey.

Will have to remember to thaw that pork sausage for our traditional Ground Hog Day breakfast.

Maybe they could start a “new tradition”, “Brontosaurus Day.” With Marie’s permission, of course.
