Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Vitamin is much trickier than first appears! So, Silver had no reference about how the scene should look at all except Vitaminâs description! You will note that Vitamin went to Dick in the first place with the ânewsâ that the lost footage had been found, while knowing all along that the footage had to be fake.
@RightwingmoronFrom yesterday: âItâs great the way Stanton and Curtis brought the old ham back after many years absence.âGreat comment. My only complaint (and the same thing applied to some âOtto âFearless Leaderâ Baronâ poster from the past), is that DTâs renowned artist is a gentleman by the name of âSTATONâ, not Stanton.Thank You very much!
It is too bad that Vitamin did not let Tracey in on the scam soonerâŚthey might have prevented the untimely death of Miles. He deserved punishment but I think a death sentence was too much. ;-)
Well, so far, so good, Vitamin. But what were you going to do if Richard and Samuel had not fortuitously appeared at this crucial moment? Try to take down Silver and Sprocket Nitrate, and Lena, by yourself?!
BTW, while acknowledging that Vitamin is based on John Barrymore, he nevertheless does also look like Vincent Price: particularly, I think, as seen in this photo.
My guess is that Vitamin wanted to make the scheme as ârealisticâ as possible, even though as an actor he could easily have had the prop department come up with a suitcase of fake money. Method acting, donât you know.
And perhaps he had wanted to be cast as a Ranger, but had to settle for the monster part, so he does, actually want this bit of fantasy film.
For any Dick Tracy fans who are interested in trivia: There are at least 20 Tracy quizzes at funtrivia.com beginning with the first story and going to Pruneface so far. So if youâve got the time, go see how much you can remember about the early Dick Tracy comics.
If Vitamin was just looking to scam the scammers, why did he bother his financial advisor (good olâ âSpit-Takeâ Coffee) for 300,000 real dollars?
Seeing as I havenât had a pet for 10 years, I havenât kept up with pet feeding fads.So Ole Silver saw a way to save some bucks and give Lena a fresh meal. Wonder if he used a wood chipper to hash things out with Mycroft?
And on the subject of disappearing, where are Pequod (who, by the way, according to his GoComics bio is âMale, born 1959. Professor of English Chicagoâ) â miss his commentsâŚand tsull (been a few days for him, too).

Joe & Mike keep bringing these old characters back, Iâd like to see them re-live Flattop, my favorite villain. I remember his hot rod coupe with either 3 pots or fuel injection. I loved him hiding out in that football stadium scoreboard. That was when CG put attention to detail in his drawingsI think perhaps you may be mixing up a couple of memories here. The original Flattop tried to hide out in a theater, I believe. In the 50s, there was Flattop Jr., who had a spiffed up hot rod car that even had a hot plate in it for cooking. In 1949 â 1950, when Tracy and Tess finally got married, there was a villain named Wormy who tried to hide in the baseball scoreboard of a fairgrounds that was deserted during the winter months. Did I miss a story featuring Flattop and a football scoreboard? When did that happen?
I donât think Vitiamin really was a factor In Milesâ death. Sprocketâs Silver haired brother simply didnât want to pay Mycroftâs fee and hashed out a plan
Itâs somewhat late in the day, and I donât know when (or if) Mr. Staton checks in here. But Iâd like to say the art today is really fun. Vitaminâs gestures in panel 2, and Tracy pushing his hat back in a gesture of puzzlement in panel 3 are very, very reminiscent of Chester Gouldâs drawings. Thank you from a Dick Tracy fan!
Bei mir faellt der Groschen spaet..Late in the day, when (hopefully) not too many will see this..morrow especially, but others, too, call Still Da Man! and Avenger09 âMatt.â.Looking over at Marty and Spud, I note that the artist is Matt Hansel, and that Matt is working on a book about Dick Locher. SDM comments have had references to Locher in the past, and responses to SDM have had references to Marty and Spud..Are these all the same person?

Pretty clever of Vitamin . . .

So at least one victim wasnât too ashamed to admit it. But Vitamin still should have let Tracy know earlier.

You pretty well answered your own question much better than I could. You need to get back to Marty & Spud where you can be your own discussion board.

I would say that Mycroftâs Hyena Chow was an afterthought. Silver saw a way to save a few bucks and get the cash to relocate.
bluegirl285 about 11 years ago
Well Iâll admit, Mr. Flintheart is far more clever than Iâve ever given him credit for.

Is that because the real Matt appeared briefly here only to disappear?
