Wow, that transport has some mouth on it. Someone needs to wash it’s manifold with soap.

They are working on coming up with a different name for drones now. Drone apparently have too negative connotation.

I knew there had to be a humorous line somewhen but I really hadn’t figured the transport would get it…

(6:50 am Central) Hot dog! An hour ago I thought we weren’t going to have an Endtown strip today!

That’s the problem with co-opting mutant brains for these things. They give up their allegiances in the blink of a…camera eye!

I just love these Personal Transporters. Its amazing how much personality Aaron can give to a box on tank treads.The other interesting thing is that “Clive” already has a name. Petey was rather resistant to nicknames. I can’t find it in “Endtown 1” but I remember Petey suggesting to Al that he was the kind of person who’d give a name to a washing machine.

A transporter with attitude…you’d think the Topsiders wouldn’t want to put up with that.

You can take the brain out of the person, but you can’t take the personality out of the brain. ;-)

My first car was a “Limefire Green” Gremlin. A friend of mine named her “Sprite.” He figured since she kept breaking down she was a lemon-lime. :o) but I loved that car anyway!

Our old police patrol cars that were the Chevrolet Caprice we nicknamed “Shamu”.Big, large, black and white, and loved to sneak up on unsuspecting seals racing on the surf.We had the Chevrolet Impala 2000 models. We called Impala POS. Piece of dodo.The fastest I had was a 1987 Ford Mustang LS. 167mph on a closed course oval. Right at the limit…..it would not turn except by riding the high speed bank. No front grip. Slowest was a 1981 Ford LTD Crown Vic. Top speed of 89mph and I drove it back in 1984 on wide open Interstate 10 chasing speeders…..at a distance. Right now in a Dodger Charger 150mph top. Fastest car I have ever driven was a Ford T-bird once raced by Bill Elliott the year when he won the Championship. Owned by a local in Ozona. Ran it one day to check our newly issued radars on IH10. Topped out on radar at 195mph and could go faster just felt comfortable at that speed. I still had RPM to spare.

I’ve noticed that. It suggests that the Topsiders might appreciate their PT’s companionship and might not have mind wiped them as much as the Mutts.

Wow, I come to read today’s comic and get a great lesson on car handling. Some of it explains why my Kia Soul handles the way it does. Thanks Veteran and Darwinskeeper, I now better understand my Soul (named Sarah, by the way).

Sounds like the canned brains in the transporter are not always as reconditioned as one might want. Our couple expected the thing to meekly respond to the over-ride command and instead it was all mouthy. Wonder if it is a matter of conditioning that gets overlaid with new personality over time? Wonder how far that could go in the future? Especially if word got out that they were canned brains, assuming all the harvesting was for mutts, not more of them. No good car stuff, was always a vehicle-as-utility-transport kind of guy. First two vehicles were used vans, current personal machine is a ‘95 Nissan little pick-up and Wife’s left over ’02 Camry

sniff I wrote a very funny song and posted on the weekend (yesterday’s strip), but by then there was virtually no-one around to comment on it. Today, everyone’s madly talking about cars. If anyone wants to see my song, check yesterday’s set.

I wonder if the drivers don’t actually prefer their transporters to have a little personality. In the “Star Wars” universe, the droids are supposed to have their memories erased from time to time to keep them from becoming glitchy. There are some owners who don’t do memory wipes as they prefer their droids to have a little personality. We know that relationships develop between Transporters. I suspect that friendships also develop between transporters and the drivers if certain PTs and drivers travel together a lot. Who knows, this may suggest that the dreaded Topsiders may not be as inhuman as we often tend to think.

Re: PT personalities.Keep in mind that the PT’s are going to give lip to anyone that they’re not assigned to. It’s probably related to security issues. Clive may not talk this way to his assigned drivers.
