How long is “overnight” in comic strip years?

I remember this story arc, and let’s just say that Calvin’s about to find out what adversity really is!

Hey, I wonder why they abandoned the baseball storyline? It goes on for at least two more weeks. Instead we’ve jumped backwards a year or so.

Jeez, all y’all stop complaining and enjoy the redux!

And he’s left leftwingpatriot too.

Somehow, I’m going to predict that we’ll be seeing a very sad Calvin in tomorrow’s strip. :(

Hi everyone! This is a repetition of the series started on June 7th 2010. What’s the reason for this? Is it the same as it was a couple of years ago when GoComics followed the original pattern, so when originally Waterson went to a holiday, and the papers issued older C&H strips, they did it too?

Hobbes is alive ONLY through Calvin’s imagination. Without Calvin, Hobbes will remain under the covers as the rag doll that he is. Calvin on the other hand will experience the torture of separation from a loved one.

Don’t worry, Calvin, Hobbes can take care of himself. You, on the other hand…………………………………….

My Dog is named Hobbes, he sleeps under the covers too.

One would think, that’s the one thing Calvin would never forget.

I don’t know what you’re complaining about, Calvin. At least they are taking your with them. They could have left you at home in the clutches of … BABYSITTER GIRL!

I was excited to read Bill Watterson was coming out of retirement last fall; but, disappointed to read he would stick to his original decision not to bring back Calvin after the initial 10 year (1985-1995) run. He did publish one item this last February; but, I am unable to locate it online.

Hobbes will be sad so allone!

If you’re already half an hour late, 10 more seconds for Calvin to get Hobbes won’t make such difference.

I guess the author is hinting that Calvin can’t survive without Hobbes?

Is it just me or has anyone else complained about having to take their anti-seizure meds after viewing your avatar?

This is so weird. I read your comment and couldn’t figure out what you were talking about so I went back to check the avatar and there it was flashing away like crazy. I didn’t even notice it when I first read the comment.

Where can I find the rest of Calvin’s experiences playing baseball? Is there an alternate web site?

C&H is NOT a current, active, LIVE strip. Watterson retired it ages ago. Please READ the extant comments before complaining – your questions may be already addressed / answered. As to the “Fashion” critiques, the strip is from 20 YEARS AGO…fashions change (or they wouldn’t be “Fashions”)…and the trip is “overnight”, suggesting a change of attire @ a hotel / motel, etc. Guess some folks just like to see their “Name & Avatar” in the comments. It’s a COMIC !!! (and an excellent one !!!)…Enjoy it with wine, not….

So who are you to dictate what we can comment about? Chill out, it’s just a comment and a relevant one at that. Even twenty or thirty years ago I wouldn’t be caught dead in something like that out of the house.

Your attitude is imperious and annoying. We all know it’s a COMIC, you don’t need to tell us that. We also all know that it’s an excellent one, and we probably all love it, which is why we read it on GoComics.
