Even Flask and Linda demonstrated concern for others. What’s the deal with Jim and Sarah?

I don’t remember my answering machine arguing with me about its rights and privileges, even if it argued against having them.

Ya know, their bringing Clive along might be a very good thing, demonstrating their humanity to the as yet unseen others. One of the great unknown to all of this how well Clive is going to take it? He might not appreciate being “saved”. Or it can all horribly backfire on our Heroes in some new and oblique way as only Arron might choose. And that is the great risk in all out speculations, Arron is doing his own thing here, and much of what he’s doing is, to my mind, somewhat “soft” SF, somewhat in the French style of BD SF. Its a little bit fantasy, a bit artistic license, perhaps even a bit illogical, but it IS a fun ride. I say that as a fan of the wide range of variations of the genera and as a rather clanky and very hard SF style writer.

It’s sort of like our stance towards the treatment of food animals in a way. take beef cows for example. Although some Hindus would be appalled at the treatment of a sacred animal, we are more or less desensitized to it. (Sorry if that doesn’t make much sense I didn’t get much sleep last night)

This is the sort of morality that, for me, really makes Endtown walk tall.

I have the impression that Topsiders often feel cut off from other people, even other Topsiders. Thus, Jim’s concern for Sarah may be exceptional for a Topsider.

One part of this story arc could be Jim and Sarah learning to act as human beings should. Starting (hopefully) with learning the importance of using names beyond “cat” and “mouse”.

Yet more evidence that the two newbies have no idea as to what Clive and it’s brethren really are or how they’ve come to be.

Gotta wonder if “brain” Clive is indeed living. There doesn’t seem to be any sort of biological support system, and Jim refers to it as being “plasticized”. It is perserved, but is it “alive”? Getting into deeeep water here….. ;-)

I think Jim needs to be reminded that Holly has a sharp bite along with her sharp words!is it me, or does Holly seem hotter when she gets her dander up?

Aaron often causes us to reflect on how many of us have treated “others” through the years. Uncle Adolph and his friends certainly demonstrated the depths…

Well, Clive IS, by all accounts a tool at this moment… Shall we gather up all other sentient “monkey wrenches” while we’re at it and bring ‘em all along? ♫♪ We’re OFF to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz. ♪♫
