Is that a " pair o’ Docs " that Knute has on?

Marten tennis themselves would seem to be a paradox … – If Knute was smart, it would be quite the bear, as Knute’s smart would seem so bare…

And yet is he smarter than the average Yogi Berra?…..

Apparently, Crystal is willing to stick around and find out which of the above Knute is. Perhaps the mystery interests her. In fact, it has to, or she’d have left long ago.

So, going to dances together, and hanging out isn’t dating? Those strips are recent, if you need proof. Or is it not dating, so that you can “keep” what you say as true? – To use one of your favorite examples, Tiffany isn’t shown doing all of her picture gigs, or some other things, but as the dialogue indicates, we can infer and extrapolate and reason, to the effect that Tiffany has a real gig.. and may do this thing or that. So if she can be “credited”, why is it a problem to “credit” someone else?…

Crystal finds Knute amusing and is willing to toy with him for now. Perhaps once she is in college the competition will dull his charm (i.e., amusement value). BTW, she manages to look good even in her summer dress-down outfit. Knute looks the same as always, despite his protestations….

Knute may not be as stupid as some think. He’s got a “wardrobe” that he’s comfortable with and costs hardly any money to maintain, as opposed to some of the divas in this strip who no doubt spend oodles of dough for clothes and yet remain unsatisfied with how they look.

Opposites attract, and that is clearly the situation with Crystal and Knute. Plus she defends him with Tiffany, who has no bf. My big question or comment is, what no tatoos on Crystal? Usually young millinnials and post-millinnials (yes we are there) have a lot of tat, particularly if they are counter-culture, such as Goth.

Just because people date, doesn’t mean they have to do everything you expect (or want) them to… a person can date another without kissing (if that’s what they choose) and not everyone just freely slaps their lips on people they date… some actually go on a number of dates and wait until later… some don’t. – And again just like your favorite character does things behind and between the panels that don’t necessarily have to be “spelled out” to be able to infer otherwise, the same for Crystal and Knute. – I think you mean “being in a relationship”, not dating. They may/may not be an “official” couple, but they are dating each other….. these days, people think of going on dates with each other, as people who prefer each others’ company over any other, and so attend social functions and personal outings together.

I.E., they are “exploring their feelings” for one another, and are "feeling each other out’ and are comfortable with each other…. – Also, some people like to keep their social activities to themselves. If these two are in any relationship, it’s not out of the realm of possiblility that they are in one, without “letting the cat out of the bag”. Some couples do do that, too…. When others find out, some are like “Wow! All this time?” and others may be like: “Hmph… I already could tell, a mile away!”… but the point is that it’s definitely possible that two people can be in a relationship, “relationship”, or a…. “relationship?” (a.k.a. a “relationshippy-kinda -sorta -thingy”)…

“So you are allowed to assume they are a couple, yet I’m not allowed to assume they aren’t "^Of course, you can assume they aren’t! But you originally said they definitely aren’t (which is the original point in question) and I’m trying to point out (via previous strips) that it’s not a “dead, done duck”, yet! You keep trying to “gloss over” the other strips’ dialogue to maintain that they aren’t , but the strips keep saying that they (at the very least) could be ! Not me saying it, but the strips!

" We can play the off panel game all day but I base my opinions on what we see day-to-day with these characters. "^Yeah, well you must not have based it on these strips…. – And as I explained, people don’t all tell everyone their business all the time… people don’t announce all their date plans with people (some out of their own reasons, some because they have a “knack” for being discreet) and some don’t wish to discuss the terms of their relationship with others, even with the persons they’re with.. that was the “relationshippy- kinda -sorta -thingy” I was referring to, where you have some who are in one, but don’t want to call it that, and aren’t yet “comfortable” with discussing it, and yet show feelings for that one. - On Facebook, they have an option for a “status label” that one puts on their page, to “declare their status” ( if they decide to) that sums it up: they list their relationship status as: “Complicated.”

“..Truth to tell, probably neither one of them had an interest in the event…” ^It is possible they didn’t go. But it is possible that they were. Here’s an example to show what I mean:

a lot of people kept asking where were Bern and Delta and others, since they didn’t see them in the panels, until later in the arc. They were there, but didn’t make an appearance until later. They were there, but at some points, we just didn’t see them. Ox was attending, but we didn’t actually see him , either. - So there’s a chance that they could have been there also. Greg isn’t going to always show every single character every single instance, as he has to move a story along, and it may simply be a matter of only depicting certain characters specifically in the panels as needed, but we can still say that they are there, just as much as we could say they’re not. – I’m not trying to make them be there (or not be there), but what I’m saying is that we can’t always say that if they’re not in the panels, that they’re not there. Sometimes on TV shows, the same principle applies, where it’s implied that they’re there, just not given a scene. A famous and hilarious one is in “Boy Meets World”, where no one saw the youngest child, Morgan, for a year or so People wondered if she was still in the show. One day, she was suddenly in a scene again (same actress), getting something out of the refrigerator! To point out the “elephant in the room”, everyone looked at her and she said: “I was in my room for a long time. That was the longest punishment I ever had!”

“That’s pretty why I never watched such TV shows as “The Dating Game” or “Love Connection,” among others. I’ve always felt that what people did on their dates was their own business and nobody’s else’s.” ^ And remarkably, they are tame examples compared to the phenomenon of Reality Television! (shudders…)

…can a person under the age of 18 get a tattoo legally in the state of California?”—————————————Laws vary by state. Evans hasn’t given us enough back-story on Crystal to know if she’s always been in Pitts, if even California.

As to fake tattoos; I give them to a friend of mine who works at NASA as a gag gift. She loves them.

“There are cases where the parent and artist were given 3-5 year prison sentence!”

In my opinion, justice is served in those cases. It does seem rather idiotic, not to mention psychopathic, to actually tattoo a child. I can’t imagine what state would allow this. I kind of thought it was everywhere (in the US), not just California.

The point has been, and originally was, that they did date, which you said they didn’t. The rest of this was unnecessary. You said they never , and they did, at least one time. That was my original point, and that was all I was saying. The rest you brought in. – I responded to the rest, not because it’s what I think, but I was pointing out that in this world today, what isn’t becomes what is, and vice versa. The Temptations described it this way: “It’s a Ball Of Confusion”.

And there’s background to how this one came about, but again, it shows that they have mutual affection, go on dates, do “couple” things, but deny it, because of their “reputations”. Yet, Tiffany and Delta in this story can see it a mile away…. –
