Knute: "I always dug it when you wanted us to write stuff!"
Mr. Fogarty: "Knute, when I ask for a three-page report, that's exactly what I expect!"
Knute: "I did write three pages, Mr. Fogarty!"
Mr. Fogarty: "I don't call the back of a gum wrapper a page!"
Yâknow? Knute kinda looks like âPunk Rockâ, from that show âHero Hightâ, on the âKids Super Power Hourâ, as shown here âŠ.. â Knute dug it when they had writing assignments, so he could practice his âcrooked lettersâ, and those âcountingâ thingysâŠHis favorite letter was PickleâŠ.

I have to admit, I feel like I am slogging through mud hereâŠI am so looking forward to Gregâs being able to come up with current events such as high school graduation once he is fully recovered (which sounds like he already is). In the meantime, however, I sort of get a giggleâŠreal sort ofâŠabout this weekâs âarc.â This has given me a lot of time to visit other strips, too, such as Calvin and Hobbes where Calvin thinks a burglar stole his tiger friend, Hobbes. And, Brdshtt, I guess Iâve already filled out your form LOL!
Guess Iâll wander around the Editorial Cartoons for awhile, and, as Samuel Pepys (1633-1703) once said, âAnd so to bed.â âNite all⊠;)
We had a teacher, orchestra, who started teaching with us and retired when we graduated. We knew his family, but we didnât know he had been taking classes, too.
He became a counselor and lost his life to leukemia while we were in college.
Thank you Mr.Lewis for teaching us to play instruments and to live.
I am sorry to hear of Gregâs health issues, but in this world of what are you doing for me now, the natives are getting restless. Get well quick please.
ORM & Hthe D: Baseball Cap Info -*Last week, to keep my hair down in the wind, I put on a baseball cap for the first time this year. It blew off as soon as I stepped outside. Put it on & caught it as it again flew off. Wised up, put in on BACKWARDS, and it stayed on for the next hour!*Lesson learned: wearing a cap backwards may be the smart thing to do, wind-wise. However, wearing a cap indoors is impolite whether itâs bill forward or bill back.
-when I was in grade school-Back there in the dinosaur days when I was in grade school, we were not only required to give valentines to all our classmates if we brought them in, but we were not allowed to give anything to the teacher. At the end of each year, we could give the teacher a small, ânonpersonalâ gift. Thus was born the âapple for the teacherââŠ.
In H.S. I took a pop quiz on a rolling paper once. The teacher rolled her eyes, told me next time to ask for a sheet of real paper, took out a loupe and graded it. I aced the quiz, of course.
RB â A belated âthanksâ for sharing those strips yesterday with Mr. Fogerty dressed as Elvis and Miss F. dressed as a hipster. I hadnât seen those before!
Yeah.. when Mr. Anderson planted the âevidenceâ, either he really needs some daily affirmations, or he must really subscribe to the maxim ârepeat something often enough and everyone will believe itâ (except maybe the mirror, Lol!)
In looking at their âtracksâ, I would conclude that this was done âaccidentally on purposeâ. A few other strips have similar posts by this same person. A bit âManson likeâ, almost. As much as we go on about âincoherenceâ of certain posts here, itâs not anywhere near this sort.
Maybe. So was the âsheet rockâ comment on âHalf Fullâ. But yet not. They start off one way, then âstray offâ a bit. But look at âThatababyâ or âDude And Dudeâ.
Presently: related to the present, at the present time. In common usage as such since the 1400s.If the meaning in common usage for some 600 years does not agree with your grammar book, you might consider buying a newer book..Or you could stick to your guns and declare the rest of the world out of step.right, right, right left right (the way it orta be)
So, it has come time to put the old âprofessorâ out to pasture. Itâs nice of the âkidsâ to do such a thing, but it makes for some rather dull reading. This seems to be in line with the equally mundane Prom Night (non)-events. I donât have the time to read every posting on this site, but from what I have seen, there are other readers who, like myself, had higher expectations of the depiction of the teenage experience.
One of my uncles had that very form printed up on business card stock in the early seventies.(And an 8 pt font would allow me to print something GoComics wouldnât want to see published.)
âHas anyone else on this board seen students give valentines to teachers?â-âââââââââââââââââI gave Valentines to my teachers in grade school because I DID appreciate them.(it wasnât until middle school that I actually had a crush on one, a la Linus in Peanuts .)

Knute in the past still has that annoying grin; he even looks ridiculous in that get-up compared to his get-up in the present.

Not if you look at the posts they left on other strips! Different ones, but the same manner.
