Luann: "I'm not sure which of us annoyed the other the most. But I'll never forget you, Mr. Fogarty" Mr. Fogarty: "Likewise, Luann. Try as we may" Mr. Fogarty: "It's time for your test. First, pt away your books and get out a pen and paper" Mr. Fogarty: "Write your name in the upper right corner and the date in the upper left. I guess the first and last name that Luann put in the corner of her paper (if she answered that “questiion” correctly) was “Ann Zye-Etty”…. – What Mr. Fogarty didn’t know was that Luann was part of the School Board’s “Professional Comprehensive Development System”, to have him demonstrate his “teacher-iness”… sort of like s “Secret Shopper”… – Oh, Monday! Why can’t you be more like your brother, Friday?…..

I remember those days…the longer the teacher focused on the preliminaries, the less I remembered about the subject =-O

Tomorrow’s gotta be the grand finale: a sappy soppy unearned “bittersweet” ending to this mess.

I have a method to avoid mind-overload when taking exams, especially more than one per class. Study like mad, stuff your head full of facts and themes, pour it all out in a bluebook, and promptly forget what you wrote and thought obsessively about the last day or two…sweep out any odds and ends, and voila! A nice, peaceful mind no longer cluttered by exams or anxieties about them… ;)

-I guess taking a test can be just like being on “Jeopardy!”

Once again this is a rather slow night…oh, well, this focus on Fogarty should be over after tomorrow! I know the reason why Greg did it, but it still wasn’t worth the 3 weeks’ focus on one rather boring 1-D character (I wonder why he just didn’t do some re-runs of original comics focusing on different characters!). Oh, well, I think I’ll wander over to the Editorial Cartoons. Have a good night, all… ;)

I don’t care what the other commenters say, I’m enjoying this “flashback” and I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Fogerty. Thanks Greg.

Everyone at college had to take Western Civilization and write a long timed essay exam at the end. Afterward, my skull felt like it had been scraped out with a melon-baller. I have no idea what I wrote. I did pass.

And notice the “alliteration” (“Fogarty/Phelps Phling”)….

I forgot one, a George Benson (and later Whitney Houston) reference:
“♪ Because the greatest… test of all, is happening…. to meeeee….♪”

As long as he doesn’t “let it go to his head”…

The Flashback glitch is made good over at that social networking site (the same Flashback appears here two days running). Luann is still somewhat condescending, and ungrammatical: since she is speaking of just two annoying people, Fogarty and her, the comparative degree is correct “… who is more annoying….” [Official Grammar Police, commissioned long ago at Frog Applause.]

Mr. Foggie has one more button, a longer nose, a smaller head and longer hair in back now. ~I’m looking forward to Monday’s strip. Graduation is always an exciting time for the entire family.

Oh-My-GAW!!!
Just LOOK at the SIZE of “Early Luann’s” Head! (SHUDDER)
I’m Sorry, but if I’m walking down the block and I see a Two Dimensional Comic Strip Character with a Head THAT Size walking toward Me, I IMMEDIATELY go across the Street!

We can only hope. Are we sure this won’t go on for yet another week?

Because I’ve been disappointed in this arc, I’ve been taking my own advice and just reading other comics. But I had to post today, because (ironically) the Orlando Sentinel online has a feature where high school students about to graduate were asked what they would miss most about high school. And most of it is a lot more positive than what we’ve been seeing in the ‘Fogarty’ comic.
If anyone is interested in seeing what this next bunch of soon-to-be adults has to say, you can find it online at the orlando sentinel. (Each time I’ve tried to spell out an url, GoComics has usually blocked it.) It’s worth it, give it a try. These are some pretty great kids.
