See? Every non-lizard mutant here is somehow in some sort of slavery-bondage relationship to a lizard. Wonder what would happen if someone like Albert showed up?
I’m waiting for the moment that Jim realises that, when push comes to shove, Sarah won’t stand up in support for him either. He left Topsider society and became an (ugh) mutant, just to be with her when she was cured of cancer. He gave up a perfectly healthy body for her. I suspect she won’t lift a finger for him in return. We’re going to see some interesting group dynamics, and I’m afraid it’s going to get a lot darker before it gets any lighter.
I don’t know… It doesn’t feel like slavery to me as much as some version of “Curb your dog”. I’m starting to get a sort of “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes” vibe. ;-)
One point…except for The Kid, we haven’t actually seen any non-lizards in this community. It’s assumed there are egg-layers somewhere, but are they intelligent egg-layers? They could be mutant non-sentient cattle, turned into giant chickens. Some animal-animals must have survived, though there’s no report of them. (Dottie mentioned something about thinking her pets were still alive, if she didn’t think about Topside…)
“Pet” ownership comes with great responsibility. Now about our fee for cleaning the cat box and board while Wally is in Cat jail.Jenner….don’t worry too much about Jim…..he makes a great “lap” pet. He already has that look in panel three. Like “stay away, this is my woman!”TSOJ……“Bad Mom” I like it. Fits her too but she is practical…..“order the damn eggs”.
The bird boy is the ONLY one seen so far. I agree others exist by the one Lizard’s familiarity in dealing with Wally, yet the exact social standing may be variable. Look at the different guesses we’ve made so far on what the society is like.
No doubt, for the time being, Aaron wants us to hate, or at least, not like lizards, from their hosts to Sarah..The question is, is this a deliberate obfuscation of some other plot development not yet revealed?.Wally comes off a lot like Don Quixote – charging at, and losing to windmills. We sympathize with him because. of all the characters shown thus far, he alone seems interested in doing something about their situation..No matter how ineffective his actions are.
Robert Nowall Hi, I’’ve been following for a while now and finally decided to comment. Think you may be onto something with the mutation changing their mindsets. Also, the lizard havens are beginning to remind me of Nazis and their view of untermensch. A bit like mutated Topsiders maybe?

No different than a negligent parent who allows her kids to run around in a restaurant unsupervised. “Bad mom.”

If she doesn’t keep her charges under control, she’ll lose her credit.

Yeah…so mutation is driven by what you were before it. Sarah’s cold-blooded heart before mutation gave her a cold-blooded body to suit it.

I’m beginning to wonder how “valuable” Clive will be in all of this.

Remember, too, “No one tells Sarah Battle who or what she is.” Not even Sarah Battle?

I find this story arc to be eggs-traordinary.

That may take a while, seeing as the cook is out (like a light!).

If you hang a mouse by it’s tail, it wouldn’t be able to hold it’s head up.However Holly wouldn’t look near as cute. Poor little Holly!
This place, these lizards are awful, even though they are inteligent enough to learn. I think their society is’nt advanced.

Her personality seems to have taken a turn for the worst since finding out she turned into a lizard may have distorted her world view.
