So maybe now we’ll get an explanation of the structure in this place. Sarah will leave their group to take up a more…favorable…role for herself where she belongs—among the cold-blooded.
Looks like Sarah is about to get the lowdown on why they are so lowdown and sneaky. This is looking like an (really) old-school “republic” where you had citizens and non-citizens like Ancient Rome. It’s interesting to see how no matter how radically things may change, the caste system is something largely immutable and will follow us no matter where we set up house. If you think it does not exist even in America, think again. There are two sets of rules:One for the richAnd one for the Poor.Yes the “law” applies to both, but how you are represented and educated makes for an unfair advantage.Unfortunate folks who are homeless or poor, are our “untouchables” despite the fact there is very little outside of money itself, to protect anyone from such a fate. Finally, there is a Plutocracy of the ultra wealthy, the few, who have all the marbles, and are well insulated from the likes of our rabble, dressed in non designer rags, eating poisoned food, while all our real decisions are made for us…By the elite…It’s in our best interests of course..We lack the capacity to rationalize, to not see the big picture..Like they do… It’s not entirely our fault, they have most of us living in survival mode. Running like a mouse in a wheel..We have too much to worry about, and cable TV and the internet to distract us.

Interesting. I don’t remember Sarah disclaiming Jim yet. Maybe he just hasn’t been inconvenient, maybe she is soon to be offered the choice, and she might even stand up for him. Tune in tomorrow, for the next installment, of As the Worm Turns And vote. I’ll try to make up a different form, incorporating the links to the Books, Cafe Press Merchandise, and the Endtown™ Auction, where we can review the available prints. The Endtown Underground Homepage and Forum is worth a visit, to pop in and look around at all the work there.

The links are usually available on the right side of the comment section, I just wanna make them more accessible, using the same urls the links use. There is also a DONATE button on the auction site, so click on cat and mouse, and send them some cash, please. It seems like months since we’ve seen Wally eat. Maybe you could spare a fin for a cat? Thanks, JusSayin
Lizard: “Sarah. It’s time for the ‘talk’. Now, when two lizards love each other very much…”Sarah: “No thanks, I already know where breakfast comes from.”
The decision Chic has to make may be whether to become a lizard. If the community has a way to turn people into lizards, that would explain why there are so many and the ruling phenotype. Citizenship is a privilege and only lizards are citizens. To be a citizen, Chic would have to become a lizard. Sarah is a problem because she is already a lizard without going through the formalities of citizenship.

At least we should get a little background on what this place is, what our crew’s choices are and what their fate may be. Things don’t seem to look good for our heroes. It appears that only Sarah, due to the nature of her mutation, has any standing here and it seems that the colony uses courts and a system on debt and indentured servitude to lock visitors into a form of slavery. Definitely not good.I’m wondering about goggles lizard. He is civil and one of the few who seem to be willing to talk to nonreptilians. There may be some decency within him. It should be noted though that he did not provide any useful information to our crew when they were captured and usually parroted the party line. The way he added “ALONE!” suggests that he has little consideration for other mutants. Also, he did not ask Chic what happened but merely gave a veiled warning. He may turn out to be a decent person and aid our crew but I have my doubts.
I have a feeling this particular lizard is not as evil as the rest around him. He warned Chic in a friendly but serious way, while it seems that everyone else in this society would have smacked him. I think he’s going to warn Sarah to get the mammals out of there before something happens
At last. Sarah is going to be taught the rules of Lizardtown. In Endtown, they welcome you with a three month orientation course and a black-and-white newsreel.

I like how you mixed modern technology (electric lights) with old technology (torches).

Those aren’t electric lights, those are lanterns.

That’s interesting. Don’t think things are going to turn out well for people. But I am sure Sarah will pull through in the end. She’s got to, right?
