Having just attended “PROM,” wouldn’t the unnamed character say, “Lucky and Amy broke up? TONIGHT”? They’re all on the party bus, they know very well they’ve been at prom. Or “the prom,” for you old-timers.
In all reality, the Dude in P2 is happy that he was taught to always look directly at who you are talking to. Since its a girls right breast talking to him, he s doing the right thing.
Okay, where can this story go…. Lady Mudlarks have chance to win Valley and go to playdowns but Amy hits bad luck streak. Mimi forces Gil to force Lucky to give Amy her luck back. A very pedestrian storyline.
As for the language I have figured it out. We now talk ‘Tarzan’ speak. “Tarzan go prom. Tarzan dance. Tarzan drink punch. Tarzan break up. Girl go. Tarzan sad”
I think in P2 Lucky is trying to get his luck back by summoning up the three witches from Macbeth to get the luck away from Amy and back to him. Eye of newt toe of frog wool of bat and tongue of dog adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing…luck fly away from Amy’s being, come to me, come to me on a falcon’s wing…
I just caught something. When Amy ‘ripped one’ it blew a hole through the catcher’s mitt. . Plus shouldn’t panel 2 have reflected a new phenomenon to go along with ‘EES’? …. Would it be ‘EAS’ in this case
In all reality, Amos Alonzo Stagg in addition to being the Father of College Football is also known for going to dances and social events alone thus the phrase Going Stagg to a social event. Go U of Chicago Maroons.

Amy takes such a big rip her bat misses the ball but breaks the time barrier and hits Lucky in the back.

Surprising to me was many or maybe most kids go to “the” prom stag today, or in groups of one sex or the other. “Stag” is probably archaic also.

Is Amy playing stickball or is she using a fungo?

A big RIP? Is that like the big sleep? Even Amy is bored to death with this story.

I believe the dude in P2 is smiling because he is getting a little sneaky peek down the front of his date’s dress.

I agree with Bitsy on this language stuff.

Wonder who gave Clumsy, err Amy a ride home. A chaperone? Classmate? Heavens to Mergatroid, Mom and Dad?

Is Lucky sitting across from a giant kettle drum in P2? Is that his new prom date?
