Sorry I couldn’t get back to you sooner, Argy ! It probably is a “when the mood strikes” sort of deal, a “one-off” as needed, as far as the “Bonus Features” are concerned….
Maybe they’re being funny so they can forget about all of the work that goes into a relationship, especially one like theirs. About mid-week it finally occurred to me that L & Q were just being their silly selves and hoped the audience (us) would go along with it? Sounds good to me… ;)
Luann may or may not still have that gig. But JMO, she probably is done with it, as she’s about to hit the books “full time” in the fall. But if she still does, she’d probably be one tired person (maybe she even uses it for part of her costs at school). – They both worked hard at it. –
“Quill still works a lot in his free time, and Luann whines that Quill isn’t with her 24/7. She still has her kid job I believe, but as we’ve seen, Tiffany is the one doing all the work.”
I’m starting to prefer Tiffany over Luann. Luann is a decent human being and a more-or-less normal teenager. But, Tiffany is hardworking and ambitious along with being a decent human being. Quill, Bernice, Gunther, and Delta all share those same traits. Why do they prefer Luann over Tiffany?
Quill and Tiffany being together makes more sense than Quill and Luann. But, love knows no logic and they have fun when they aren’t arguing.
Did you know that “Enditol” also makes a handy dandy cleaner for errors? – After you apply it, just whistle and walk away…. - Also works in case of an audit…..
Well, its off to see the Wizard…and I don’t mean “OZ” LOL First, I have to collect IS Katie off of the deck…she is enjoying herself in the cool night air. ’Nite all!-—————————————————————-“My people and I have come to an agreement which satisfies us both. They are to say what they please, and I am to do what I please.” (Frederick the Great, 1712-1786)
-It’s stressful-stress yourself out by reading a comic? Find one you like. Presumably one where all the female characters have nonexistent noses, and are happy with whatever scraps of attention their love interests find time to throw to them..
“Stress can age you before your time. Just look at the president ..” ^I remember something shown about Abe, and how he had a “younger, fresher, more optimistic” countenance/face at the beginning, and as time wore on (shown in a series of photos from the start of his presidency, to the civil war, to his last days), you could see new “worry lines” and wrinkles appearing with each advancing picture.
Ahhh, young love! Problem is that everyone seems to have a goal – except Lu Ann. Sure, she is going to community college, but heading towards what? Girl, you have to take care of yourself and be prepared in case young love doesn’t turn into lifetime love.
nah, much easier for some to b**** and complain …-The “complainers” keep this place honest and not let us forget that Evans can improve.-Howtheduck, Reallybad, Seismic, Locake…they are the heroes the Luann comment thread deserves, but not the ones it needs right now. So we’ll yell at them. We’ll insult them. We’ll tell them to leave and go read something else. Because they can take it. Because they’re not our heroes. They’re silent guardians. Watchful protectors. Dark Knights.
I guess we’re even, then, because you are usually less disparaging. Now that I realize you are just part of the snarking set, I won’t trouble you with comments anymore.
If one thing leads to another. Then they should run to a bank, get into the vault. Why? They can practice, “safe sex”! I can’t believe nobody saw that coming.
> no, the gerund form is correct for this usage.>In the expression “snarking set”, the verbal “snarking” is used as an adjective rather than as a noun, and it is therefore a participle rather than a gerund.
“You Don’t Hug On Superman’s Cape”!" ^I especially like that one! I don’t know why Jim Croce’s song didn’t even “tap on my shoulder” when I was calling up different thoughts…
> no, it is a compound noun, and thus a gerund.>A compound noun is a phrase acting as a single noun. Often it is an adjective plus a noun, as in the case of what is discussed in this forum (a “comic strip”), but it can be two nouns (“fire truck”). In the case of a verbal plus a noun, the verbal ending in “-ing” can indeed be a gerund, but perhaps more often it is a participle. Consider the compound noun “diving board”. Here the verbal “diving” is not used as an adjective (since it is not a board that dives) but as a gerund, since “diving” is an action for which the board was built to facilitate. Now consider the compound noun “singing group”. If one considers the verbal “singing” to be an attribute of the group (i.e., a group of people, who are singing), then it is used as an adjective, so it is a participle. If one considers “singing” to be an action that the group was formed to accomplish, then it is used as a noun, so it is a gerund. In the case of “snarking set”, I considered that to mean a set of people who were snarking (and thus used as a participle), but you had in mind a set of people that was assembled for the action of snarking, so it was used as a gerund. I apologize for my misinterpretation, and I withdraw my objection.
Sort of same thing (but not really) with Pappa Johns and Dominos. Only with them, the one left Dominos to start up the other… that “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza” line must be the corporate version of a couple breaking up, and always taking a “subtle shot” at their ex…
