Only 3 U.S. states have a legal age at which kids can be left home alone. They vary from age 8 to age 14. Can you imagine have to get a sitter for a 13 year old? In my neighborhood we have 11 year old girls babysitting.
My parents tried that on me when I was six. I waved goodby and sat down with my toys. when they got to the car and realized I wasn’t crying at the door, they came back and hauled me off to church. :-)
