If you ride a horse, he or she should have a name. Just like humans, they learn what we call them and pay attention.

Movie “Culpepper Cattle Co.” young cowboy: that’s a nice horse, what’s his name? Old cowboy: you don’t put a name on something you might have to eat.

Well, I have to agree with Ruthie. I didn’t like it one bit either.

Just wait ’til she hears “Ventura Highway.” The “alligator lizards in the air” are gonna freak her out.

It’s not a real horse, Ruthie. It’s a metaphor for… never mind, I’ll tell you when you’re older.

I had the same feeling, Ruthie. How hard is it to name a horse?

Have I been misinterpreting the lyrics of that song my entire life? I thought the singer was riding a horse with “no name”. I assumed “no name” was someone he found half dead in the desert and had forgotten his name due to heat stroke and dehydration, and they were sharing a horse to get out of the desert.

But the horse gets to run free in the end.

You are in the desert with a horse with no name. You have nothing else to do. Name the freaking horse!

And, as the Man With No Name was riding the Horse With No Name, he saw Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds and wondered “25 or 6 to 4?”

Ruthie do you know some names to put for a nameless horse? That could be nice and everyones happy.

well – the group America – who coined the horse with no name – went to my high school – London Central High School (go bobcats) – so i feel really old when i see our heroine complain about my school’s band
