Looks like Larry has some smarts after all. Tact, on the other hand…

Larry is honest. Don’t need to be smart to be honest.

He has a point. Let’s hope his mom’s side will prevail, though.

Luckily the intelligence gene is in the x chromosome.
I learned that on “car talk”.

No wonder Larry screws up almost every Biology class during his time in school…

@MayKittenDMX512 (Digital MultipleX 512) is the protocol for controlling theatre lights and dimmers. It controls 512 channels (0-255 value) per line, and is slowly being superseded by sACN, Shownet, and other Ethernet/UDP based protocols which can transfer far more information at a time.
DMX is transmitted over a matched pair, with the RS485 layer 1 protocol. 5-pin XLR-style connectors are used officially, although some hardware uses 3-pin connectors despite this being expressly forbidden by the standard.
RDMX does not exist. However, RDM, Remote Device Management does, as an extension to the DMX standard, also called DMX512A. It specifies a protocol for half-duplex communication over the previously simplex DMX cables, with no changes to hardware. This allows dimmers and digital fixtures to report problems, change address, etc. without requiring physical access.
Is that enough info? All off the top of my head, btw.

Larry is so deeply philosophical! Know thyself, as the ancient Greeks said (but they said it in ancient Greek). Maybe there is hope for Junior yet, what with Patty’s share and the glimmer of a fine point or two buried deep within his dad…. Take heart, Junior!

Ha—I’ve always liked the phrase “to be hosed”.
Reminds me of a song about the bad economy (one verse as follows):
“Look at the Dow[Darn], there it goesMy retirement’sNow completely hosed.”
(It’s called “Sock it to the holidays”, and it should be on YouTube. Heading out, so don’t have time to link. Sorry.)

How do you tell a male chromosome from a female chromosome? Pull down its genes.
Packratjohn Premium Member about 10 years ago
We tech/mech types used to say “hosed up” to indicate system failure. Not so much anymore.
A_NY_Outlaw about 10 years ago
Larry always tells it like it is…. Although he can’t help it.
Mad Sci about 10 years ago
Funnily enough, today’s page a day calendar features Larry’s very refined parents writing him off as a complete failure. Maybe the genes for smarts were repressed in Larry, probably pickled in alcohol.

Hey, let’s not forget that Larry kicked a$$ on Jeopardy! Funny though, for some reason I can’t remember why.

Am I the only one seeing this strip without any black ink?
Jon Schutter about 10 years ago
My version of this comic has no black lines. No words, no lines. Is this what everyone else is seeing? So confused.

Found the black ink on another website. Strip makes MUCH more sense with words and pupils in their eyes. No sure what happened here.

Junior’s remark in panel 2 that ‘DNA resides in ALMOST every cell in our body’ raises the question: What cells in our body DON’T carry DNA?? Seriously seeking answer!
