Man on left with both arms up:...And no matter which way they went, they'd end up in the pit of...HYPER-INFLATION!!...Maybe...

Can’t give out the name here, but I have an actual brick and mortar bank right here, in and around KC, that does not charge a dime for my accounts. Modest interest on savings. I don’t use checks, just a debit card, so no check charges either. My account is small, probably never over 2k in it at any time, and as little as 200. Still no charges. Best part? NO ATM FEES. Anywhere. Any machine. Any network. Doesn’t matter. For the little guy like me, ‘it don’t get no better’.
Bruno Zeigerts: At least the middle part. In Canada, it is either credit union or casse popular [people’s bank] or both, and my English/Spanish dictionary doesn’t have a listing. It might help fight barrio poverty if they did..packratjohn: We have a no extra charge checking account with the stagecoach. We opened a checking account at a start-up bank in the ‘50s and five acquisitions later, we are part of the liabilities that came with each take-over. It also means that we can keep only the bare minimum needed for check-writing and not give them the use of our money to take away people’s houses. You have us beat on the ATM, though; we only can use their machines free.
I would like to take a group of CEOs or Congressmen and make them play T-Ball. I’d like to see how long it would take them to keep score, argue about the rules, cheat and figure out a way to make a buck on the game.
I’ve got the best banking situation. My money goes into the bank by direct deposit. Almost all my purchases are by credit/debit card. I need practically no cash. I rarely use an ATM. I pay all my bills via my bank’s free bill pay service. I rarely write a paper check. I pay my credit card debt in full each month and have no interest charges. The only reason I use the credit card is to get their air travel perks. This is all done from the computer I am using right now.
All I know is there was no raise this year because Washington removed every bill we must pay…..gas, electric, food expense….etc. from the COLA equation…..therefore creating zero inflation so they had more money to give themselves.

Why consider reality when you have so many perfectly good theories?

When food, fuel and utilities are no longer included in inflation calculations, you know the government is hiding the truth, as usual.
