I’m willing to bet that Gunther is picking up Spanish fairly quickly, just from dealing with shopkeepers, cabdrivers and such. He’s highly adaptable, and determined to make the most of his life away from Mom’s sheltering influence.

I bet he can even pour his own syrup now!

Gunther almost assuredly had Spanish in HS..That does not mean that he would catch what the driver said as well as Rosa did. .TJ and Toni are not in the picture but could be there. The table has two sides, well actually four. But we see only one view..But Toni could be at work, and TJ may be outside — bringing in the pony that he is giving her.
