Let’s see… March 17 is a Wednesday this year, which means I’ll be able to enjoy my Guinness in peace down at my favorite Irish pub, when I make my weekly pilgrimage on Tuesday. Don’t worry, though, I’ll leave some for the rest of y’all for the next day.
You’re correct Radish, and so does Scotland, where I drove for a couple of weeks. It wasn’t too bad on a straight-away, and you had to remember NOT to turn into the right lane when making a right turn, but the truly horrible experience was each time I was going uphill or around a blind curve - my body KNEW I wasn’t supposed to be in the left lane, my body KNEW, from years of driving on the right, that someone was going to come over that hill or around that curve in my lane and kill me, because I was in the WRONG LANE! I’d get past with utter relief and then came another blind spot. Also had to worry about some other dumber American who WAS driving on the right. Never ever drove on the left again, and never will.
Once St. Patrick got rid of Ireland’s snakes, every Irish home had gallons and gallons of 80-proof snake-bite remedy that was now redundant. Being a thrifty people, they drank it rather than let it go to waste…
It became a tradition, partly because every time they tried to sober up the snakes came back.

yes, he did use a golf club…..three wood, I believe; and since he didn’t keep his saintly head down, he kept hooking them into the water

St. Patrick knew how to have a good time as this comic illustrates. And that is why we celebrate St. Patrick’s day.
