I didn’t see this comic originally, but when I clicked in the blank screen where the comic should have been, it did give me the pop out larger version of the comic. using Safari
Michael knows “everything” when it comes to his sister, but he’s not quite old enough to do something responsible about it. Besides, it was a good experiment, and now we know the outcome.
Saint Patrick was actually born in Europe. Rome they believe. Stories differ, but I was always told he was Italian.
The “rats” he drove out of Ireland, were actually Pagans. He was a Catholic Missionary who traveled around converting Pagans to Chritianity. He was hired by the Irish Catholic Church to come to Ireland to do so, and he did so quite successfully.
Before you flag this, There is no disrepsect intended toward Pagans. This is the actual story, and it is historical fact. Look it up.
I posted it, because I’m seeing a lot of misinformation posted on various comics today about St. Patrick’s Day.
Mrs, Luke, it wasn’t rats, it was snakes. And he was English. And they were druids, who had serpents tattooed on their arms. And thank you for proving your own last paragraph.
Right on, MrsLuke. He went to Ireland from England, to teach Christianity and the “wee folks” of the Faerie Realm went underground. People in Ireland stil believe in the faeries but keep it to themselves if asked. As recently as 10 years ago (or so) a large construction site was halted because of a faerie bush in the way. The construction crew went around it. (Just in case, you know!)
I recently read that the faeries are returning because of all the harm in the world (wars, etc) going on in the name of religion. In a very simplistic explanation, faeries are the personification of Nature. I for one, am a follower of the Faerie Realm.
OK! I get it clearly. Michael should not blaming on Lizzie. He should grab the bag and put it back where it should be immediately instead of let Lizzie pulling the bag and spilling the kibbles on the floor. Tsk, tsk! Next time, he better uses a common sense.
Jaeldid66, it’s snakes, you’re right. I goofed. There are a lot of versions of where he came from. Nobody really knows with certainty (as I read). Growing up, I was always told he came from Italy, not England. I also didn’t claim to be any kind of expert on the subject. The comment that prompted me to post the second comment isn’t there now. It said “rats”, and the person really believed the story was about driving rats out of Ireland. I had that stuck in my mind as I responded, and I said rats instead of snakes, sorry. Thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I really couldn’t care less about St. Patrick’s Day, I’m not Irish, and I certainly wasn’t trying to be a Joe Allen, but I did make a corned beef yesterday, and I sure could use a beer.
Littledutchboy, I read the same fairy story you’re talking about, but it was about Gnomes in the Netherlands halting construction. They don’t want the piece of woodland they live in destroyed, and have held up the project for years, causing the machines to break down every time they attempt to clear the land.
I’m glad you believe in something, (wink). Who’s to say all the magical little beings don’t really exist. It would be a better place if they do. And FAR more interesting!
I went to a Pagan convention a few weeks ago – fascinating. I’m not converting, but it really was a lot of fun, some great art, even better bumper stickers – (“gimme that old time religion”). And the stories and clarifications of some of the early gods and goddesses were very interesting.
As for the comic, why stop her when you can wait for her to do it, and then go tell on her – much more fun!!

A HAPPY St. Patties Day to ALL!
Saint Pat, the one who, legend has it, drove the snakes from Ireland.
(What they DON’T say is he drove them RIGHT to America, where they became; Lawyers, Politicians and Higher Paid IRS agents!)

No biggie! I wonder if she would have flipped out or not if Anne wasn’t there. The typical face in panel 2 tells me she would have.

Hey Faeries, gnomes, whatever, they all make as much sense as the Christian theories. So it’s what you want to follow, believe, or put your faith in.
