Just guessing….. The flight was fine, just great. But the middle was a bit rough, what with turbulence and all. He thought the guy next to him was going to hurl, but the dolt was just pulling his leg.
I never noticed the “scratchless” comment before. If that’s meant to mean that Mac is declawed it’s an anomaly – declawing cats is illegal here in the UK.
@ Whitehound: probably a subtle reference to being disarmed, like almost all British subjects save the johnnies & gangsters. Nice to know that the UK version of the ASPCA has kept cat mutilation to a minimum over there tho’! Funny that cats are thought more trustworthy than people… ;-)
So duke what you’re telling me is that even amongst the United Kingdom everyone has their own language? I think it was John Oliver that did a bit about Wales having to import vowels. lol Of course here in the U.S. they say things in Louisiana that no one in Jersey would understand, and vice versa.

Funny, I’ve spent a lifetime spent watching Britcoms so I can understand everything Mac says.

@TheWildSow
Boston’s about 3250 while Philly is just over 3500 which was his point.
Mind you, most folk are pretty imprecise, so calling England to Boston “about 3500” works well enough.

Pulling my leg is correct but chunder is more an Australian expression, talk to god on the big white telephone is more British.

Yeah, when he said “chunder” I thought “Wait, that’s Aussie, isn’t it?”

I can’t imagine Bucky sharing anything with anyone (willingly.) I’m picturing Satchel happily taking care of the ‘Gest.’

I watch a lot of BBC shows on DVD I get from my library. I have to turn on the closed caption to understand any of them.

Ugh, these are soooo tedious! Besides, this is a re-write of earlier strips.

Goodness, I’m beginning to understand Mac! Maybe soon I won’t have to put on close captioning to watch “Sherlock” and “Downton Abbey.”

To an American, 100 years is a long time; and to an Englishman, 100 miles is a long way.

Ah, the euphemisms are legion and, if I may say so. colorful.
