Roger: Andy, you don't understand! I need coffee to wake up! To think! To function! Andy: Roger, if that's true then you're addicted, and it's even more readon to break free from caffeine's grip. See? Not even you can debate that. Roger: I need coffee to debate. Andy: Here. have a refreshing glass of ice water.

Ice waterâs not the same, Andie!

Canât wait to see how this boomerangs on her. Because you know it will.
ejcapulet almost 15 years ago
Sorry, you canât get any sympathy from me on that - I loathe the stench of coffee and agree that addictive behavior needs to be broken.
legaleagle48 almost 15 years ago
Yes, but itâs not her decision to make, ejcapulet â and certainly not unilaterally. She should have at least shared her concerns with him before she decided to just cut him off without warning. Thatâs not only rude and inconsiderate on her part, but also counterproductive. Whatâs to stop him from having coffee at work, or at anyplace else thatâs not home, if he doesnât WANT to quit drinking it?
albertonencioni almost 15 years ago
..wait âtill Roger finds how beautiful is to wake up with a steaming coffe brought to your bed by your 22-years-old blonde Russian secretaryâŚ
naplllp almost 15 years ago
Shouldnât he tell her that 3 cups of coffee sharpens ihe brain? This was on Dr.Phil the other dayâŚ
cdward almost 15 years ago
I love the smell and taste of coffee. Actually hate the smell & taste of tea. Also, all the research says up to five cups a day are perfectly fine and may even have some health benefits. Of course, the âwake upâ effect is actually over-rated â a good nightâs sleep is much better.
But the main point here â and legaleagle48 made it nicely â is that itâs his decision to make. Iâd suggest he run right out to buy a cup then go to the grocery store and buy a pound.

When coffee was extremely expensive in the 80âs I gave it up for 6 years. Worse than when I quit smoking.

Suddenly cutting someone off from their beloved coffee is justâŚwrong.
DolphinGirl78 almost 15 years ago
I have one travel mug of coffee a day, the rest of it is spent drinking water or herbal teas⌠:)
Good Morning to ALL!!!

I see some of the other anti-control freaks are here with me today. You donât quit alone, but you need to decide to quit alone.
If you want to end your marriage, keep making decisions for your spouse, Andy. If you married anything other than an amoeba, thereâs a spine there somewhere.

It would serve her right if Roger switched to Mountain Dew in the morning.

Concur with most of the opinions expressed here, even the self-described freaks.
Caffeine addiction - like any drug addiction - can have serious, painful withdrawal symptoms that can wreak havoc on your health and your relationships with others. I know from personal experience. I became addicted to caffeine in college when I had a very difficult software class. Iâd say in the computer lab for 18 hours at a time, trying to get my programs to compile and run properly and ended up caffeine dependent. Years later, when I decided I needed to quit because of high blood pressure, withdrew S L O W L Y and everything was fine. But I remember Saturdays (before quitting) when Iâd sleep in and awake with a tremendous headache because my body was demanding caffeine.
In real life, Andy & Roger should have discussed this together and arrived at a plan. Itâs what people in good marriages do or people who want to have a good marriage.

âsharpens the brainâ coming from another self-proclaimed expertâŚ
Reminds me of how heroin was described in the early 1900âs as having wonderful health benefits; âsharpening the mindâ and âclearing the complexionâ being among them.
treBsdrawkcaB almost 15 years ago
Regular exercise sharpens the mind better, for longer and is healthier.

ice water, taken fresh from her veins!
dflak almost 15 years ago
If heâs not getting any at home, he might just go outside the marriage to get it.
This isnât to say that coffee is better than sex. Well, at least for some of us. Sometimes.
falcon_370f almost 15 years ago
AZPrairiedog, you might want to cut down on the âFamily Guyâ watching.
starguy almost 15 years ago
albertonencioni, if you wake up with your 22 year old, blonde Russian secretary, and you STILL need coffee to get going, then you have far greater problems than a caffeine addiction.
zerotsm almost 15 years ago
I canât stand the taste of coffee, If I need caffeine to keep awake Iâll drink a Pepsi (not that diet stuff that tastes like metal, the âhigh testâ stuff with sugar and high fructose corn syrup). Jolt Cola or the other âenergy drinksâ are too strong for me, they make me so jittery I canât solder and people think Iâve been doing illegal stimulants.

One of you is gonna need it.
dhubb almost 15 years ago
Iâm with you @ejcapulet I canât stand the smell of coffee, and hate seeing the addicting effects it has on people.
As for the comic, I do agree that she should have talked to him about it first, but if he wants a cup he will just go out and get one.
theamazingamber almost 15 years ago
Let the man have his coffee. If caffeine is his only addiction, count yourself lucky, lady. Perhaps the point is less java-control than it is husband control (some people just like to micro-manage).
Rakkav almost 15 years ago
Itâs quite possible to enjoy coffee daily without becoming addicted to it. It helps to add cocoa to take off the edge.
Johanan Rakkav, CEO, Rakkavâs CocoMocha, Ltd. :)tsandl almost 15 years ago
Coffeeâs not addictive! (slurp) I can (gulp) quit any time I want. (glug, glug, glug)
