He should start decreasing his sugar intake. Sugar is the poison – not fat.

It’s going to be around -1C today, -10 with wind chill, with snow squalls later. Blech.

I’m reminded of the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas, famous for it’s high calorie, greasy food. Last year the customer who was the grill’s mascot died from a – (what else?) heart attack.

Unfortunately for some, even when you could know better; you do not. Somewhat like hearing and seeing an avalanche coming and ignoring it completely. One wonders just what that person is aware of?

White Castle started here in Wichita, but there hasn’t been one here for MANY years. (I have been here since 1943 and have never seen one).

Moderation in all things, including excesses. Perhaps especially excesses. Nothing wrong with a big ol’ burger now and then. McDonald’s won’t kill you (except, perhaps, by boredom). When Morgan Spurlock made himself sick by gorging on McD’s for a month (“Supersize Me”), the culprit was not the nutritional content of any given food item, but the fact that his “rules” of eating (three meals a day at McD’s, and always accept an offer to “supersize”) boosted his caloric intake to about 5000/day—twice what an active male needs to be healthy. No wonder he felt rotten…

According to one of those Yahoo articles, Hardee’s (Carl’s Jr.) are the worst hamburgers for your health. They have about 9,000% of the minimum daily requirement of all the stuff that’s supposed to be bad for you.

Their commercials feature people with the most abominable eating habits.

And I love them. Which is why I order the greasiest, sloppiest thing they have on the menu twice a year.

    “Second we need meat”-————————————————-

I used to think that too. Such is the power of advertising and lobbyists from the meat and dairy industries. We all grew up in this country believing that was absolute fact because we had it constantly drummed into our minds from childhood on through adutlhood. But it is not the case. Not by a long shot. Once you’ve discovered the reality of this propaganda and the science behind a plant-based diet, you will be shaking your head, wondering how you were so easily duped. Go to forksoverknives.com and read the reality of what a plant-based diet means to your health and the damage we’ve all been doing to ourselves by eating mostly meat.

It’s not easy facing the truth. But when faced with irrefutable facts and science from decades of research and actual experience, it makes facing it and changing your ways easier. I highly recommend watching their documentary, Forks Over Knives (you can get it on Netflix), which puts everything in perspective.

felinefan55: Vera Cruz is noted for its sea food and last I checked a map, it was in Mexico. Tex-Mex is a different matter, being indigenous only to the states of Texas, New Mexico, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nueva Leon, and Tamaulipas. Mexicali (olives and sour cream) are from all the Californias (Norte y Baja), Arizona, and Sonora.

    Often the first symptom…..is DEAD.

Ya’ take a B12 supplement. No biggie. Done.

You can get all you need in Protein, Calcium, etc. via Plant Based eating . Period. Science, research, ..proven.

It’s easy, minor learning curve. Test drive it. Results ARE typical.

Get healthy. You get one bod. Treat it right. Eating like this fixes things. It’s proven. And I can vouch.
