OK, so Jarrod steps in. What will be more interesting for the readers? Failure or success? I vote for success but then Jarrod learns not to be a jerk and he credits True for bringing the team back. There is no “I” in “Team” ….but there is a “ME!” ;) Hopefully, Jarrod forgets the “me” as well.
There’s a Chip Hilton book called “Ten Seconds to Play!” Chip had three more seconds than True does. I vote for an audible from True, overruling Gil’s play call and sending all the receivers on a fly pattern even though they’re at the 4.
Actually P-3 is the MILFord Kazoo Marching band led by Marti Moons errant brother Mel Moon.Very popular on the Valley HS circut.Hoping we can drag the final 7 seconds for an entire week.
In all reality (an homage), don’t the players or coaches make the “T” sign and officials give the “stop clock” signal? Maybe the ref needs to go to the bathroom. Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now!
Super cool story so far and the art is fabulous. I hope Milford becomes champs, and come Monday we’ll find out what the last 7 seconds brings. A field goal won’t do it, so it has to be a TD or nothing. In the red zone 4 yards can be like four miles and seven seconds can be like forever or just a split second! Unless there is a defensive penalty this is the last play. By rule a game cannot end on a defensive penalty.
Monday/Tuesday is the timeout. True’s hurt and Jarrod is going in. They line up on Wednesday. The championship is decided on Thursday, leaving Friday for the moral.
FUMBLE-ROOSKIE! Gil remembers a play Bobby Bowden showed him at a clinic 30 years ago. He’s been waiting this long for the right spot to use it. J. Pascoe has been working with the line on a silent count. I’m waxing my convertible for the parade after I post this.
Well, I’m changing my vote now. I say they win the game based on what’s happening. They are not going to take the time to show us some masterful play that Gil(e) will diagram (or more likely, Tru(e) will invent in the huddle) that won’t work. The only question is, does Tru(e) stay in or does Gil(e) switch to Jarrod(e) because of the arm problem? And after the win, do we find out Tru(e)‘s career is over? Could be.My prediction of a Tru(e) injury in the playoffs came tru(e)! Not that I was the only one, or that it took some genius to guess that. The only genius is today’s MUT! Well, genius is too strong a word. Let’s go with “it’s something” instead.
I still say lateral pass to Jerrod, TD to True for the championship. True’s shoulder injury means the recruiters back off and he goes to Miami of Ohio.

and Ming the Merciless signals a time-out. The flip to Jarrod for a TD pass would be the obvious play…

P3- Why, that’s none other than Waylon Jennings whistling good ol’ Rocky Top. Timeout Milford. Unbalanced line, tackle eligible to BBJ, TD, game, title.
tedybgame almost 10 years ago
Halfback option to Jarrod on the strong side who throws to Tru on the weak side. TD. Both QBs carried off as heroes.

P-1 The Pius LB’s name is Curb (as in Tru fell off). They want to call for a Statue of Liberty but Tru would have to lift his arm.
wesmorgan1 almost 10 years ago
Tackle-eligible, shovel pass to Big John Pascoe, Jarrod puts a pancaked block on the opposing LB to clear the way for the TD.
