If it’s beef bouillon, yes, it is meat.

To a strict veggie, bouillon certainly does count as meat.

So Joanie & Rick were never married, even after Jeff came along?

Maybe the reason for Joanie’s leaving her husband and kids is becoming clearer.

Not excusable, just clearer.

Joanie & Rick did marry in 1981.

To produce offspring, obviously no. But to have rights of inheritance, make medical decisions, etc., that “mere piece of paper” becomes pretty important.

It’s just a way of saying you actually care about and will care for each other — at least in our culture. In other cultures, it may mean, “She’s my property and if you touch her, I’ll kill her.”

Our Joanie is trying so hard to ignore J.J.’s topic of choice. Rick is politely staying quiet on the subject, time enough to bring it up after J.J. leaves. .

Yup, as I said a few days ago, this kid might have had something to do with Joanie’s leaving the marriage. And if there were more like her…..
