Sounds as if Gruesome expects to be captured.

Wonder if he knows something we donā€™t.

I think he was resigned to going back to prison long ago. After all, he planned to reveal the body in the window seat ever since he put it there. So, she wonā€™t allow him to write to her from prison? How can she stop him.?

Why would an accomplished killer and crook want to go back to the joint? And yeah, when is someone going to figure out the Otis thingie?

Talk about your unexpected twists! Who would have guessed that Cupid, not Dick Tracy, would send Gruesome back to prison?!

Took a long time for Con Security to ā€œwake upā€ to some activity at the Gruesome event. Like Tracy has been, in this tale , flat of foot, and slow off the mark ?.So weā€™ve got to go back to the theory that it might have been bystanders (can we guess - a little ā€œchargedā€ ?) That phoned the police, disturbed, maybe thinking Al Goreā€™s Armageddon was about to take place at the Monstercon ?A report of ā€˜some sortā€™ must have reached Tracy, as ā€˜unrealisticā€™, amusing and ā€˜self servingā€™ as that seemed to be to several yesterday.

Here we have it in ā€˜black and whiteā€™ from the Author that only now was some ā€˜officialā€™ activity (actually) taking place. The numerous theories of maybe it was this, or maybe that, apparently to keep their stories in lock step with the developments, as they came along now seemed out the window and like Tracy no longer in the dark ?

Seems Neil selected his ā€˜black and whiteā€™ strip example from the Houston Chronicle quite ā€œcarefullyā€ yesterday, had he used the strip for Dec 16th (the following day), it would have (vividly) revealed car lights, street lights and night skys. Net result, his more ā€œmutedā€ example with cars close to lighted buildings (reflections on nearby walls) helped to mask the darkness of the night during the play, thereby avoiding the sharper contrast with yesterdays strip.

A couple of things. Gruesome appears more grotesque in the passing of time. Note the progression in panel 2 from October (panel one). The Sunday strip still amazes me with the different heavier inks and the tonal coloring (last panel). I much prefer the dailyā€™s cleaner look. No offense to anyone.

ā€œCaptainā€™s Logā€¦ this is the third day weā€™ve spent in the same rut. I think the crew is getting restlessā€¦ I fear a mutiny. It seems that the Head of Entertainment has resigned himself to his fate and isnt even attempting an escape. Thatā€™s fine.. it will make things much easier for the Keystone Kopsā€¦. I mean, our ace security team to take him down and apprehend him. Funny how lately they have seemed to rely more on outside help than their own abilities to solve crises. I might have to talk to them about this.ā€

Good morning Tracy fans. Before we get too far away from this story line, any of you who hasnā€™t seen Arsenic and Old Lace yet, it will be shown on TCM next Tuesday the 30th at 8:30 EST. Itā€™s well worth setting your DVR to record.

Excuse the typos in the comment I just posted, but I think you can understand my points. ā€œYour hypothesis that itā€™s darkā€ should say ā€œyour hypothesis that itā€™s daylight.ā€

The numerous theories of maybe it was this, or maybe that, apparently to keep their stories in lock step with the developments-ā€”ā€”Jeez, Syd ā€“ tell us what you really feel.I donā€™t know, maybe itā€™s because Iā€™m a writer, and as a reporter worked with cops, have a little knowledge of the laws, and have been to such conventions, that I still stick by what I said Sunday (and Monday). I donā€™t tailor my opinions to be in lock step with anyone, so I hope you werenā€™t aiming that at me.Truth is, I really donā€™t understand your complaints.Fight breaks out, call the cops. Pretty basic, wherever it happens ā€“ a bar, a convention, a city park.Thereā€™s no evidence to suggest security didnā€™t call the police as you claim, (complete with lame political trash; if I wanted politics, Iā€™d watch cable news).Doesnā€™t matter why con security called the cops first, and then approached the troublemaker. (Iā€™d go with, ā€œHeā€™s bigger than me, and I donā€™t want him strangling me; letā€™s call the cops.ā€)And, really, Syd ā€“ that crack about Neil implying some little conspiracy theory. For shame, Syd.

" So, she wonā€™t allow him to write to her from prison? How can she stop him.?" By not giving him her address? As for Gruesomeā€™s appearance, the difference could be that heā€™s wearing stage makeup.

seems like this story canā€™t decide whether it wants to be taken seriously, or be a tongue-in-cheek comedyā€¦..keeps going back and forthā€¦.

Also, re writing someone from prison, I think the prison authorities can block your letters from going to certain people if they request that. (Like the victims of stalkers.)
