“FI” in panel one , “GI” in panel two. Why no ’HI” in panel three? .I mentioned Buddy Green Saturday. His younger brother was also a great QB but the basketball coach talked him out of playing football after his sophomore year to concentrate on that. Also to avoid possible injury. .Gil may be using that same kind of logic but I have never heard of stopping a football player from playing basketball for that reason

What Gil means is, “You’re not coming out for the team, you’re already on it”.
