Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Depends on whom the âdumbing-downâ is being addressed to. Just look at the senatorâŠhe sort of fits the roleâŠnah, he really does fit the bill! ;)
How can you vote for âthe best man(or lady) if from that persons point of view there isnât anyone worth the time and effort. THEY ARE ALL THE SAMEâFULL OF B*** S*** ! ! ! !
I thought this would turn into a blood bath of comments; especially after the first one coming out of the chute. Must be the New Yearâs resolution to be more kind to one another.
Now, now. Thatâs unfair to other fat, old, white guys. To be a successful Republican presidential candidate, you have to meet other qualifications. Like whiskey-addled halfwit, robot-like agency tool, early Alzheimerâs sufferer, or amoral criminal. I canât include the head-injured jock. He lost to a peanut farmer.
it is sad that i live in a land full of echoes â with no original voice â filled with politicians who have bought off the people/media of their choice. most people canât/wonât think for themselves so echoes they give for replies. echoes of silly solutions based on biases taught to them young. so they argue and wrangle and name call for solutions they really donât want. and their leaders all laugh and deride them for they are too dumb to understand what they ought. â donât believe me, just sit in on one of the âgood olâ boy bull sessions where no recording of any kind is allowed. solutions arenât discussed, only discussions on how can we keep what we got and continue to take what we donât have.
Not so much the dumbing-down of individuals, but the dumbing-down of the media used for discourse. Lincoln and Douglas debated for hours in front of people who were provably not as smart as the average modern voter (seriously: there is research showing a steady increase in IQ as nutrition, public education, and medicine improved in the last 150 years) but still paid attention. These days the standard political âmessageâ is maybe thirty seconds in length. We have chosenâor perhaps it is more correct to say the corporate media have chosen for usâto consume our political information in these tiny units. Doesnât matter how smart or dumb we are as individuals; the interconnection is dumb. We are using gigabytes of bandwidth to communicate two or three bits worth of actual information.
