Actually, I had a friend who was crazy about fish. His basement was full of aquariums. I could walk past them and look into the aquarium and the fish just ignored me completely… However when my friend would stop and look in the fish either all clustered at the glass watching him or they headed for the surface expecting to be fed… So, now that I recalled how my friend’s fish acted, I don’t think the cats all look alike to the fish after all.
I read an article about an African American guy who just loved Chinese things, art, architecture, everything….His picture on the cover made him appear to be the average American black guy….But at some point he got genetically tested, and was found to be over 90% Chinese ancestry….He just got a “black” gene, evidently…..And then when I looked back at his picture, he didn’t look like a “Black Guy” at all….He looked 100% Chinese, with dark skin…..Pretty weird….
Fish can see color. Interesting thing about cichlids in IIRC Lake Victoria: farming or something turned the once clear water murky, and seems as if they use their bright colors to select mates because those colors started fading.
QuietDragon, it was quite a surprise..Perception can be so superficial….I didn’t see him as the obviously Chinese guy that he was, just because he was chocolate colored…..Live and learn…Ya got to know your limitations….It was kinda like “Is it a vase or two faces?” “Old Lady or pretty girl?”…..I thought I was better than that….

Since your eyes are on the sides of your head, just cover up one eye at a time and look.

“Cats do not look anymore alike than dogs or people.”
You know that’s the crux of the gag, don’t you? A hint towards that is how all the cats depicted in the cartoon ALL LOOK DIFFERENT.

I believe you’re thinking of violin strings. They were once made from catgut.Violin bows are strung with horse hair. But the comment was funny anyway.
