That was easy. Baby time! This is already a eye-opening experience for Tracy. Maybe they can take a quick look at him when he gets to the hospital to see the baby, but it looks like neither Tracy nor Gruesome are much the worse for wear.
The baby was born on Christmas Day. That’s evident from the strip that day, when we hear the baby crying through the door at the maternity ward with the Christmas tree in the foreground. In fact, all the action we’re seeing happened on the same night, back to when Dick and Tess went to the theater in the November 24 strip. Everything happened on one night, and the December 25 strips tells us what day it was.
“Cuff him, Lizz!” Tracy chuckled to himself at his little Jack Lord ripoff.Ulterior motive for willingness to go to the hospital, but Tracy just needs a clean-up and a spraying with Bactine before he visits the new grandchild….
Fantastic graphics, death defying survival of a 25 foot fall, and not even a visible bruise, as happily, they’ve even located his Hat While off, back to prison goes, ‘Head’ honcho in Handcuffs. Lizz left to take care of the ‘baggage’ . . . like at Patterson Theatre.
REASONABLE ending, considering that Sarah Karloff had kindly given the Team {or rather Mike) - “permission” to use her father’s likeness, For this story. Would have seemed one in - ‘Poor Taste’, had the ‘model face’ suffered a ‘gruesome’ ending.
And happily, (from the Author’s perspective) the solution (back in Jail) keeps a door there, to later OPEN - for a return
My fondest recall on this story-line will be the severe test to Joe Staton’s skills in ‘creating / and alternating’ those countless Boris Karloff expressions !
The Loose Ends ? Those we thought Lizz was covering ? The Otis body ? Survival of Mel O Dee? … that Un named Floor Director ? And Agate Aggie ?The “camera” - might not be going there, any time soon . . . A good guess(?) . . . it’s off to the Hospital to discover the sex of the new Grandchild
This is a lot of fun, but there are some loose ends. What about the hidden money that Mel. O. Dee. was supposed to have from the old bank robbery? Stolen loot needs to be turned over to the Police Custodian. And, Mel. O. Dee. should still be on the hook for complicity in the bank robbery. And, the matter of Otis’ body, as others have pointed out?
Agreed. The important characters back at the Patterson are Vitamin and Kandikane. When we last saw the stage they were the only people left. Safe to assume that others ran to safety, as did the audience. I can imagine Otis’ corpse being loaded into the Coroner’s wagon, but am not surprised this was not shown. Mel O. Dee was a very minor character. The debt he paid to Gruesome was only relevant in terms of giving Gruesome a motive for taking a role in Arsenic and Old Lace. .I like the smooth transition. Sam thought Tracy would have to be persuaded to go to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Tracy is happy to go, but only because Junior and Sparkle are there with the new born baby. Let’s hope the firemen get to Goofy Golf in time to save the clown at the 6th hole. That’s the loose end. ;-)

Gruesome looks like the kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar….except you don’t get sent to death row for swiping cookies.

Pretty sure that’s as open as Tracy’s eyes ever get.

And the build towards Tracy’s 100th anniversary continues …
Betting Diet Smith’s nascent time travel technology plays a role in that one.
Dare they yank Flattop out of the time stream, plop him down in present-day Tracyville?
That would be awesome sauce.

Good morning to all. Some very good questions have been raised about this story.
Joe and Mike you need to tie up all the loose ends.
Tracy will smell like smoke unless he cleans up before going to the hospital.
Y’all have a great day.

Gruesom & Einstein? Same characters in Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant.

Funny to see comments wanting every step of MCU procedure shown but imagine how boring the strip would be.

I think it’s great to see Grusome escorted off by that “lady cop” he tried to bump off the road…
