I’m confused about the strategy here. Are they putting two men on Reed? Is Malik providing help when Reed’s in the backcourt? If he can easily drive around Bacon, driving around Malik should be even easier.

Or Gil could say, “Malik, after Reed makes Max look like a chump, you’ll have to pick him up. You’ll probably foul out by halftime, but that’s how it goes.”

So what’s going on here? Is Gil benching Bacon for stopping to talk to Marty Moon when he was supposed to be guarding Reed?

Gilford wants to trap Reed with Malik and Max so Reed will give up the rock. The Jeff’s are not as effective if the ball is another Jeff player’s hands.
