The best one for Elly to talk to about this would be God. He is available 24 hours a day and can be contacted from any geographic location. Such service cannot be beat!

The worst part is that she hurt their feelings. That will not be easy to heal.

What’s ‘said’ is said and can not be ‘un-said’. Calk it up to ‘you were only sticking up for Connie’ and forget about it. Get on with your life. Look on the bright side. It’ll be a ‘cold day in h_ll’ before John askes you to ‘fill in at the office’ as his assistant.

Yeah yeah.if you say so.(You bought the whole farm there, didn’t you?)-———-Even if you don’t share someone’s religious beliefs, you should respect them.After all, it’s what you’d want from them, right?

Reminds me of the Nancy White song, “Free Floating Anxiety.” (Like Lynn, Nancy’s Canadian!) Tried to find a youtube link but it doesn’t seem to be there.

Gosh, I didn’t know Elly was Irish.It sounds like she’s entered the land of Irish Guilt, where you question every mistake you’ve ever made, and fill in the slack time by questioning the things that weren’t mistakes.-Hmm? Why yes, I am Irish. How’d you know?

Lynn’s Notes:

The frustrating thing about being a writer (which I am to a small degree) is that my imagination works over time. If I need to talk to someone about an important matter or if I’ve done something for which I should apologize, I have the conversation a hundred times — in my head. I make my own arguments, answer my own questions and before the conversation ever takes place, I have worked it to death — ad nauseam. Most often, I beat myself up over trivial stuff that is easily resolved. I imagine every possible scenario. When the confrontation does take place, I have blown the situation so far out of proportion that the person I am talking to has no idea what I’m so worried about! Oh well, there’s nothing like being prepared for the worst!

Could be AD/HD, it works like that.

Because Ted’s a royal jerk and you just couldn’t pretend he wasn’t any longer?

I think her reaction to the wedding was perfectly natural…Ted was not kind to her good friend Connie, she has no reason to mince her words about it. If Irene is caught in the middle, it would be hard to believe she didn’t know it. Women agonize too much about these things…if the shoe was on the other foot and it was Ted who said something insensitive to her or John, he would have forgotten it long before now and he sure wouldn’t be losing any sleep over it.

It’s now called “having no filter” meaning the person blurts things out without processing through the brain first. Runs in my family and yes, we do have Irish and Scottish genes.
