I was so glad to see that yesterday was “Vista Bill Day”, in more ways than one. Not only were there a great number of tributes to him, but I’m sure that since I started posting, I don’t believe VB has commented so many times himself in one day. Going strong at 80! Keep up the good work, VB.I’m in awe of you, and you ARE appreciated.

Extra money — and in cash, too! So … Mrs. Flattop is trying to lure Dick Tracy into following her. I wonder what her plan is. She evidently has it all planned out. She’s been considering how to get revenge on Tracy for some time. Of course, Tracy couldn’t know that it’s a trap, so he’ll likely fall into it.

A little off topic, but I just discovered it: during the New York newspaper deliverer’s strike, Mayor LaGuardia (the one the airport is named after) went on the radio to read Dick Tracy to the kids in case they missed it. It is in the newsreel at the bottom of this page. You need to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, click on the last video, and wait for the video to load. You can jump ahead to the 3-minute mark to hear Mayor LaGuardia reading a day in the adventures of Breathless Mahoney from Dick Tracy.

Has anyone else noticed the Blackhearts uniform she is always wearing? I’m wondering when the summer rolls around, does she have shorts like the UPS drivers do?

Seems there’s honor among thieves, or at least among the Nitrates and Stiletta.

Speaking of Blowtop, hope he doesn’t pop any stitches while in the ICU. They’d better keep him heavily sedated.

So strange to feel sympathy towards someone who once blew up Tracy’s house …

No, it’s not a Blackheart uniform because the Blackhearts always were black hearts. The heart on Stiletta’s costume is pink. Like Anyface said, it’s a fencing costume.

btw… just letting ya all know…NEXT FRIDAY will be my last day posting/reading tracy for a week….march 7 thru 14 i will be in honolulu on vacation so i will have some catching up to do when i get back! (and for the record…it was -11 degrees when i left my house this morning… WITHOUT wind chill! lol)

The Firesign Theatre did a tribute to LaGuardia’s comic-reading chops on their LP “Dear Friends.”

It looks as though Silver and Sprocket will be allowed to fade off stage with little or no further action (at least in the immediate future). Kind of anticlimactic. Mrs. Stiletta Flattop, on the other hand, though not so big herself, looms large over Detective Tracy’s future well-being, or lack thereof. She is cold, calculating, smart, and deadly, and she has a plan. That’s no fun for Tracy….

But of course…

Sprocket is worried… decides to advise

to beware of Dick Tracy’s keen vigilant eyes.

Can see the Nitrates getting caught first – ending THAT story – then Sprocket going straight, forgetting about the “discretion” and squealing on Stiletta, tying the two stories completely together. This way Tracy can avoid having to be rescued again as well, although if he is indeed lured into a trap involving a loved one, it is understandable he’d probably need help…..

However I would like to put this “wonder car” up against the Black Beauty of Green Hornet fame.____________________
