Ganymede is not larger than the earth! It is larger than Pluto or Mercury. It is a moon because it orbits Jupiter. By definition, a planet orbits the sun and a moon orbits a planet. Hereâs some good solid info http://www.space.com/16440-ganymede-facts-about-jupiters-largest-moon.html
â20 times the distance from the Sun to EarthââŠ. Câmon Doc, you can say âA.U.â. Weâre all reasonable bright. And, Nab, any fan of The Big Bang Theory knows Raj studies Trans-Neptunian Objects, so yeah, we kinda get fired up about it.And, being the fossil that I am, I still say Pluto is a planet. So there.
Oh, good golly, heâs BACK, and with his poor grasp of science and inaccurate âfactsâ intact..If we go through and fact-check your tome line-by-line, we find that about 60% of what you say is factually WRONG..For just a couple of examples â Ganymede is NOT larger than Earth; nowhere near. Mercury is twice the diameter of Eris and Pluto. Yes, the Earth is a moon â a moon of the sun. .Pluto isnât even the 9th largest object in orbit about the sun, as long thought â if we make it a planet again, it would the 10th planet with Eris as the 9th..We could go on and on, but at least Nabby is consistent â if he says something and you assume the opposite is true, youâll be right more often than not..Nabby, itâs OK if you want to take another sabbatical.
If you are quoting from a book you have written, then I suggest an edit: âThe only practical things they accomplished was the derision of the publicâŠâ You have an agreement problem between your verb and your subject, as well as the subject and predicate noun disagreeing in number.
Outside of that, I will concede to a greater knowledge. It is evident that you know a lot more about âegoâ than any of the rest of us.

And donât forget the definition âclears its orbit of smaller debrisâ, which even the âtoon indicates it doesnât.

Insofar as Iâm concerned, Pluto is a planet just as Sedna is and those others out there whose names/designations I canât recall are.
