I don’t Know about you but picking a wedding site is not the same as the act of getting married

One wonders why they don’t just take the engine down to the car wash down the street, and pop for all the “pretty colored suds”…I mean, besides the fact that they’d be away from the station… okay, and besides the fact that it wouldn’t go through the wash bay doors…

Even still i highly doubt that greg at this moment is reading this comment If he was i like to say make more toni/brad storyline at least 1 week strip per month and/or 1 in 2 months with 2 consecutive weeks

Wasn’t it a little different that he continued last weeks story into Sunday! It seems to me that’s not something he does too often.

What you guys think will Toni take brads surname? or will she stick with her own name or hyphened toni daytona-dergoot ?
GOGOPOWERANGERS over 9 years ago
I think your thinking too much its just a dirty truck there no metaphors intended

Or maybe…maybe it’s time Toni and Brad got a little ‘dirty’ in the fire station. I’m sure there’s something they’ve yet to christen in there….

They need to get married in the firehouse! A fire station themed wedding. Perfect for them!
wiselad over 9 years ago
BTW, we got the chief for those complaining about that ;)

Fast forward to 2050, Toni will be picking out her wedding dress, Luann will have declared her college major, Gunther will be lamenting the loss of Rosa, his Mom will be fixing dinner for Mr. Gray, Bernice will be wondering how to let Dez know that her incense bothers her………………..

Why don’t they do a firefighter themed wedding.
Julie Buchter over 9 years ago
Where I come from in PA it’s not uncommon for couples to get married in the church then have a fire hall reception. Most companies have social halls that they rent out. It’s DIY decorating on Friday and the halls either offer catering or if not, hire your own What a perfect idea for two fire fighters.

Where are they getting married? Vegas? What’s with all of these off-the-wall venu’s? They are a family that celebrates Christmas. How about a church?

What happened to you that made you so bitter, Reallybad? If you have been following the story arc the past few days, (and i’m sure that you have) then you know that the problem is the wedding businesses that they have been visiting, not Brad. But somehow, you have to find some hidden slight or insult. You do that a lot. Why is that?
LadyJessica over 9 years ago
Clearly, they should get married at the fire house!

My antenna is up. The foreboding light is flashing.*Is this going to be where one of them gets hurt and has to attend the wedding in a wheelchair or stretcher?
JimT8 over 9 years ago
Right you are, Wise Lad. And weddings are much over-rated, though I just returned from a really good one and was glad I was there.
JimT8 over 9 years ago
“That is all part of marrying someone.”
Well, if you want it to be legal, you need to exchange vows somewhere or other, but it does not have to be a hairy big deal, as a friend used to say. It can be anywhere.
JimT8 over 9 years ago
All you really need to do is get a license, probably a blood-test, find two witnesses and make an appointment with an officiant. Then you can invite anyone you want to share the occasion with. My wife and I went to the courthouse and had a small reception in our apartment. We had a small dinner the night before in a restaurant with surviving parents and our witnesses. That was nearly 46 years ago and we are still very much together.
JimT8 over 9 years ago
“At this present moment in time, nothing about marrying Brad has been fun, hence the dirty truck comment.”That is because until they actually saw the horrors of commercial wedding planning they could not agree—but then they DID.

Clearly, the wedding will be held in the firehouse. Now the question is how Evans is going to draw that out for a week when it’s obvious as of Monday.

about weddings(not marriages, which is different) each his own, BUT many times people put more importance to the W than to the M, and thus why so many M ends in the big D, a big W can be nice if it is sincere and not about boasting and some small W are in their simplicity so memorable and would have been lost if they had tried to make it a big one
wiselad over 9 years ago
many possibilities of where to get the wedding, but another perfect place for it would be a simple one in the park, under the tree where they first kissed and Toni told Brad she loved him
GOGOPOWERANGERS over 9 years ago
@iamJayBluE yea i think if hey comeback it would make a nice surprise to both of them i think they would have 1 or 2 dirk jr
wiselad over 9 years ago
again, WEDDING is not the same as MARRIAGE, plus BRAD actually AGREED with TONI about the fun and easiness (or lack of them to be precise) of “finding a venue for the wedding” but they not talking about the idea of getting married and living together

Say, I was looking at the ad for the Luann books and noticed something…interesting. The characters appearing from right to left are Tiffany, Brad, Luann, Bernice and is that Piro (one of Dez’ many, many friends). If that is Piro then it seems like Greg has bigger plans for the character than just the one shot appearance. Hmmmmm!

Oh, but he does. The key to getting him to read something though is to be one of the first comments.
Well, then, he’s now acknowledged it. But I’m thinking that reading “only the 1st few” doesn’t give him the whole picture, either.

Well, if this leads toward a firehouse wedding, I’m all for it. But I’m a little concerned that the Captain put Brad and Toni on the same shift. That should never, never happen in real life. If one or both get injured “on the job….” that would not be a good thing… I’m truly hoping that is not where Greg is going by putting them together like this… He did, after all, say to “expect some drama and trauma…” in re: the wedding… I hope this isn’t it.

Hey! We get a chance to WIN A PRIZE this week! All we have to do is identify our two favorite Luann strips!
All we have to do… oh my… this could be tough, especially since Greg wants individual strips rather than story lines!

There’s a bonus that was featured on the GoComics blog site, and now there’s a link on the right side of this site. If you post a comment and your actual name, you’re entering a drawing for a pack of Luann material, but the deadline is tomorrow.

Sorry, but I’m still curious about yesterday’s art work. Were Toni and Brad painted on a clear plastic cel (ala Disney) and just placed over a pre-prepared background? I just have the feeling that Greg didn’t actually draw all of those other figures.

Thank you, JPuzzleWhiz. I really wasn’t accusing Greg of stealing someone’s else’s work, I was questioning the technique used in creating Sunday’s picture. The background just isn’t his style, and the foreground images are sharper. Greg certainly could have drawn both images, but, as I said, pre-prepared the background and then laid a clear cel image of Toni & Brad over it. Kind of “photo bombing” cartoon style.

“…because Brad yelled at her over the phone and hung up on her.” ^That time was so important, because it was supposed to represent (to us reading it at the time) the time when it was almost over for good. – And usually it was Brad “fearing” doing something “dumb” to lose Toni, but that time, it was the other way around . Very significant, in terms of seeing that the relationship really was a “2 way street”….
wiselad over 9 years ago
see, too many times you see everything as black and white, while for me Brad’s move was like he playing the first hand of Texas hold’em with him having 2 and 9 of diamonds, and the cards on the table being 3 of Diamonds, Queen of diamonds and Queen of jacks for first 3, than nine of hearts for number 4, and only Brad and someone else staying ………….. and than Brad decided to go all in hoping to get a diamond in card number 5 and that the other hand does not have the other 2 queens, or the other 2 nines, or one nine and one queen or 2 higher diamond cards or have the other hand folding before the 5th card is revealed………..risky move but at same time smart move

Whether or not anyone believed it then, is not the point. The point is that it was one of those moments done in fictional relationships that was a “dancing close to the edge” kind of moment. Meant to invest us (the reader) into the relationship and/or even identify with it….

This is totally cute. But just as a reality check: What percentage of firefighters are female? 5% ? I don’t know. And, what percentage of firefighters in the same fire department are sweethearts, and engaged? .0000001% ?… It’s still really fun – but a really fun total fantasy. Which is fine.
