One wonders why they don’t just take the engine down to the car wash down the street, and pop for all the “pretty colored suds”…I mean, besides the fact that they’d be away from the station… okay, and besides the fact that it wouldn’t go through the wash bay doors…

Where I come from in PA it’s not uncommon for couples to get married in the church then have a fire hall reception. Most companies have social halls that they rent out. It’s DIY decorating on Friday and the halls either offer catering or if not, hire your own What a perfect idea for two fire fighters.

What happened to you that made you so bitter, Reallybad? If you have been following the story arc the past few days, (and i’m sure that you have) then you know that the problem is the wedding businesses that they have been visiting, not Brad. But somehow, you have to find some hidden slight or insult. You do that a lot. Why is that?

“That is all part of marrying someone.”

Well, if you want it to be legal, you need to exchange vows somewhere or other, but it does not have to be a hairy big deal, as a friend used to say. It can be anywhere.

All you really need to do is get a license, probably a blood-test, find two witnesses and make an appointment with an officiant. Then you can invite anyone you want to share the occasion with. My wife and I went to the courthouse and had a small reception in our apartment. We had a small dinner the night before in a restaurant with surviving parents and our witnesses. That was nearly 46 years ago and we are still very much together.

about weddings(not marriages, which is different) each his own, BUT many times people put more importance to the W than to the M, and thus why so many M ends in the big D, a big W can be nice if it is sincere and not about boasting and some small W are in their simplicity so memorable and would have been lost if they had tried to make it a big one

many possibilities of where to get the wedding, but another perfect place for it would be a simple one in the park, under the tree where they first kissed and Toni told Brad she loved him

Say, I was looking at the ad for the Luann books and noticed something…interesting. The characters appearing from right to left are Tiffany, Brad, Luann, Bernice and is that Piro (one of Dez’ many, many friends). If that is Piro then it seems like Greg has bigger plans for the character than just the one shot appearance. Hmmmmm!

Well, if this leads toward a firehouse wedding, I’m all for it. But I’m a little concerned that the Captain put Brad and Toni on the same shift. That should never, never happen in real life. If one or both get injured “on the job….” that would not be a good thing… I’m truly hoping that is not where Greg is going by putting them together like this… He did, after all, say to “expect some drama and trauma…” in re: the wedding… I hope this isn’t it.

Sorry, but I’m still curious about yesterday’s art work. Were Toni and Brad painted on a clear plastic cel (ala Disney) and just placed over a pre-prepared background? I just have the feeling that Greg didn’t actually draw all of those other figures.

Thank you, JPuzzleWhiz. I really wasn’t accusing Greg of stealing someone’s else’s work, I was questioning the technique used in creating Sunday’s picture. The background just isn’t his style, and the foreground images are sharper. Greg certainly could have drawn both images, but, as I said, pre-prepared the background and then laid a clear cel image of Toni & Brad over it. Kind of “photo bombing” cartoon style.

“…because Brad yelled at her over the phone and hung up on her.” ^That time was so important, because it was supposed to represent (to us reading it at the time) the time when it was almost over for good. – And usually it was Brad “fearing” doing something “dumb” to lose Toni, but that time, it was the other way around . Very significant, in terms of seeing that the relationship really was a “2 way street”….

see, too many times you see everything as black and white, while for me Brad’s move was like he playing the first hand of Texas hold’em with him having 2 and 9 of diamonds, and the cards on the table being 3 of Diamonds, Queen of diamonds and Queen of jacks for first 3, than nine of hearts for number 4, and only Brad and someone else staying ………….. and than Brad decided to go all in hoping to get a diamond in card number 5 and that the other hand does not have the other 2 queens, or the other 2 nines, or one nine and one queen or 2 higher diamond cards or have the other hand folding before the 5th card is revealed………..risky move but at same time smart move
