Ralph: St. Patrick's Day used to be my favorite holiday... A celebration of my Irish heritage! Then my wife researched my ancestry and discovered I'm not Irish. Now it's just not the same! Shirt: Kiss me. I used to be Irish! June: If it makes you feel any better, your 3rd cousin 5 times removed owned an Irish setter!

My daughter is big on her Irish heritage. On my side she has at least 50%. Unfortunately it is NORTHERN Ireland. What really sucks is we get the orange part of the flag instead of the green. Both of us have green as our favorite color. I at least have green/blue/grey eyes.

That American fascination with the nationality of their ancestors has always left me scratching my head. Sure, it’s nice to know where you come from but presenting yourself as Irish American etc sounds a bit strange. At least from outside.

I don’t have any Irish heritage that I know of, and I don’t mind that. English (including UEL), German, Italian, Pennsylvania “Dutch” (yeah, I know that’s German again,) and some Welsh.

My great great great grandfather was an Irish slaveowner who got a little too friendly with the help.

I’m 0% of Irish heritage, but born on St. Pat’s Day. Does that make me Irish?

I researched my genealogy and found out that I AM Irish. Even found a cool story about a mysterious missing McKibben gravestone that turned up in anohther state.

My Irish ancestors were really Scots who lay over a few generations on their way west.

Unless you’re born in another country, you’re American. Ancestry tell who other people were. Every person’s legacy is to look forward, not backwards. Make the next generation better than the last.

I’ve read that St. Patrick’s Day isn’t much of a holiday in Ireland. It’s us Yanks that made it “Drink Green Beer” and “My name is O’Something” day.

A lot of things we celebrate here, aren’t really that much in the “home” country. Probably started by those who were just missing the “old” country when they first came here.
