Calvin’s dad doesn’t seem to appreciate how Calvin’s art will appreciate. Admittedly, the details are a bit sketchy.

It’s a beautiful drawing, I like this drawing from Calvin, a nice turtle!

Say Banksy did it then it would sell for $$$$$.

I thought it was a fat giraffe on his way to Weight Watchers.

Start with $5 for an A on your report card Calvin.

It’s not even worthy of going on the fridge door, Calvin.

I thought it was a crab.

Heck, it’s abstract enough, Calvin could be the next Wassily Kandinsky.

Not only will it not appreciate ; but people will not grow to appreciate it.

A lifetime of effort? Looks like about 15 minutes to me. Plus, I think LX013 is as close to an accurate assessment of its content as we have, though I will note that it appears to have only one eye and not much of a head beyond that.

So how much do you think a museum would pay for a kids drawing by Da Vinci or Rembrandt no matter how good or bad it was?

Reminds me of some art majors I’ve known.

I would purchase a piece of original artwork by Calvin. I know my wife has a few pieces designed by him!.Oh wait, that’s Calvin Kline…

Remember, dad, it’s an original. Unlike the prints of today’s strip that Watterson gets $39.95 for each. But then look at all the time and talent it took him to draw all those little circles on the chair fabric. And he stayed within the lines, too.

It’s one of the space landers from “War of the Worlds”.

Buy it, Dad . . . in time it will be worth more to you.

Calvin is not able to do it better, certainly he tried it hard!! I would reward the good will and give him a bit!!

I, personally, would give him a small bag of gold coins — CHOCOLATE coins in gold-tone aluminum foil, of course!

@Hobbes,Dad won’t ‘shell out’ until Calvin is more definitive. What is it? It’s the ‘manna’ in which Calvin evolves his “sketchy” drawing into something recognizable for what it is that will cause the value of the drawing to ‘saur’ and Dad will make ‘a grand’ response. Then Calvin won’t be ‘sore’ about it and decide to ditch the drawing.

I always drew houses when I was little.I learned how to use Microsoft Paint at an early age and I drew a lot of pictures of my toy mouse on there.xxx
