I remember when we built a camper as a family. Everyone had their job, my dad did most of the work, but my brothers, sisters, and I did everything from starting the screws and the nails to soaping the screws so they’d go in easier.
You do have to be careful when you’re building or refitting stuff. I had a client who had been a dentist. He bought a bus (kind of a full-size thing like a small school bus) and was fitting it to be a family camper. One day he propped it up with some kind of jack and got under it; it slipped off and came to rest on his neck, pressing on his carotid artery. After being rescued, he found he had lost his smarts and could no longer do dentistry work. I was unable to suggest any job that he wanted to do, and he declined services.(I was wondering whether pouring cement so that clouds of it fly up in the air is that great for the lungs.)

Jimmy, Gene should be checking the trueness before the concrete is installed.

Ken, I assume the concrete is powder at this point, that’s why she’s adding water. Good time to check before it firms up

I’m not a builder, but aren’t you supposed to mix concrete before you pour it into the hole?
Mark Jackson Premium Member over 9 years ago
You can buy concrete that’s specifically for setting posts that works this way. I’ve used it.

Somebody showed me the “pour the water in the hole” trick years ago. It works great and saves having to clean up whatever you mixed the cement in!
