I’m surprised Burl isn’t putting a dollar in the Marital Donations and taking ten in change. At my Daughter’s wedding my family completely ignored the table assignments and all crowded around 2 tables! I wasn’t pleased ’cause that left 2 tables with only one couple each.

$25! They should be seated at the head table!

Probably doing some people a favor by all sitting at the same table.

Actually this IS the best idea: SOMEONE in planning should’ve had the jurisprudence on tap to explicitly group these yo-yos together…..and downwind from everyone else in the room to boot!! Orrrrrrr…even out on the parking lot!!

While I can somewhat understand a potential need for assigned seating at some weddings…. but for the most part I find it to be a VERY poor choice. Most people who attend a wedding get to see VERY LITTLE overall of the married couple…. in order to make the reception more enjoyable for the guests, people should be allowed to sit by whom they wish. I was at one reception where the assigned seating separated spouses across from each other at the same very large, circular table. The tables were large enough that spouses could not communicate with each other. That situation DID NOT LAST LONG.

Whenever I’ve been at a wedding reception with assigned seating it was because they wanted friends and relatives to meet someone new and interesting so they wouldn’t be bored sitting with someone they already knew.
