Caption: Bernie & Phil learn the hacks of life. Man in red: Hmm...says here we've been doing it wrong. Man in blue: Doing what wrong? Man in red: Everything. Man in blue: What are you talking about? Man in red: "Life Hacks" trumpeted by millennials on the internet. Man in blue: Ok...so what are life hacks? Man in red: It's what we used to call helpful hints, but with snark and bombast. Man in blue: Wait...so how is everything we've been doing "wrong"? Man in red: It's the old formula of cool= better, and old ways are NEVER cool......therefore, UNcool= wrong. Man in blue: Ah...of course. Glad our generation wasn't like that. Man in red: If you feel an earth tremor, it's probably from your parents rolling in their graves laughing.

Well, some things are constant. The cubs will never win. Mississippi will always be the backwards place. And, never mess with Texas.

Every generation believes themselves smarter than the one preceding and wiser than the one that follows.

The parents who were outraged in the 50’s-60’s by rock and roll forget they’d outraged their own parents with the jazz and swing music of the 20’s-30’s. Just as parents who hate rap drove their parents crazy with rock and roll. The beat goes on.

And every generation thinks they invented sex, not realizing how they got here. Always funny to watch!

My wife tells me that I am wrong all the time. I don’t need any young’uns telling me too.

Thank God every generation thinks they can do it better than the last. Otherwise, we’d still be living in caves.

“There are two kinds of fools. One says, ‘This is old; therefore it is good.’ The other says, ‘This is new; therefore it is better.’”

Actually, that’s South Carolina’s. SC always came in 49th in educational & healthcare ratings with Mississippi at 50th, so SC officials always said"Thank god for Mississippi"

Our parents would always remind us how we would become them one day. Whether we had children or not, we’d become our parents. It’s funny how many are for something, yet are certified NIMBY’s (Not In My Back Yard)

Some of these “life hacks” have been around for years, if not generations.

We all know it all and those who don’t listen to our wisdom are stupid.

When I was your age I had to walk 3 miles and back to school each day. And it was uphill both directions.

When I worked for Voc Rehab in Florida during the ’80’s and ’90’s, we had an unofficial motto regarding our rank in the national pay-for-state-Voc-Rehab-Counselors scale: Thank God for Mississippi!

Of course, some of the old ways are becoming cool—check out the guys shaving like their (great) grandfathers or the people who suddenly realized Grandma was actually saving money or making good food by doing it from scratch and the like.

I’m 63 or so… my dad is 94, still pretty sharp mentally and I have three grown children, who have children of their own. I see this scenario all of the time… I still have to show my dad how to program his Old School VCR so it tells the right time and my kids have to show me how to use the smart phone they got me for… ‘just in case’. I can’t wait until my grand kids are showing my kids and maybe me; if I should live so long how to navigate through the future maybe with Interstellar Virtual reality or some such.
PS. I remember My Grandpa telling me he didn’t need T.V. because The Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates played better ball on the radio… sigh.

Ah, but wisdom comes to the young when they reach the age that they realize their parents were right.

Thank you for reminding everyone what a terrible state Mississippi is. We like it that the masses don’t move here.
