Blaze’s comment was a bit on the nose today.

As I was saying yesterday, I don’t know if DoubleUp goes anywhere without his whip. He has to be “ready for anything.” For Jimmy’s sake, he’d better be ready, too.

Blaze kind of reminds me of my grandmother. She turned a hobby into a money-making operation, too.Grandma’s hobby was crocheting. (She was Scottish; the only whip she needed was her tongue. One snap from that’d make ya jump!)

I really enjoy today’s strip. While the dialogue isn’t essential to the story, it’s good to see some character development with the villains.The personalities and interaction of the bad guys was a large part of the fun of the Nitrates’ story.-Obviously, BB-Eyes shared his knowledge of Blaze’s day job. And – was Double-Up smiling? (For my money, he’s scarier than Gruesome.)

This team is really in demand. First we want them to revive the Annie strip. Now, we want them to do the Shadow! Maybe they can add Alley Oop to their agenda too!

now that’s odd to me I never figured Blaze to be a dominatrix, but go figure. I wonder if her dad & her were pals? My bride would say, that’s none of your business..green eyes may read this (but maybe not) and she will say in pleasant tone, “that’s none of your business” Doubleup.

A pleasant, character-building interlude as Blaze drives DoubleUp to Jimmy’s location. Some snappy dialogue (whips: snappy—get it?) and, at least IMHO, a subtle Remington Steele reference in the last panel (the intro dialogue to the ’80s TV detective show had Stephanie Zimbalist use nearly those words)….

April 1st it came, no shame, just heed the early Flatiron ‘warning’ * . . .*There’ll be no haste, it is ‘slow paced’, in the story here just dawning . . .So 30 days it’s tunnel walking, turning, talking, Drift Tracy’s gear is stuck parking . . .Count the steps and the clues they left. like a candle slowly burning . . .Now we face some days for ‘reading*, when what’s in need. is SPEEDING

Doubleup may someday meet Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson, who together reach out a little farther than his bullwhip. But he’s too important this time to eat a lead sandwich.

i seriously doubt that he could handle the red head. When i was a young man i had 2 girlfriends that were red heads … they were high strung to say the least … and both had tempers … and both were too much gal for me! Now I’m not saying that all red headed gals are like that because green eyes is a natural blond and man, oh man as sweet and wonderful as she is … when … and I say only when … and honest that is not very often, she gets ticked off … I just shut up and leave the room, because an atom bomb may just be like a firecracker (hypothetically speaking of course) when she goes off ,,, in almost 36 years I’ve seen it two maybe three times. It aint pretty!

Hey everyone! Been out of town again and just returned.Doubleup has a sense of humor! Who knew? Who knew?

There’s something regarding Doubleup and Blaze’s relationship that puzzles me. I’ve been discussing this with a fellow Tracy fan, and he doesn’t know the answer, either.The puzzle: Why are Doubleup and Blaze friendly to one another, given Blaze once shot Doubleup, and he in turn threatened to take revenge against her?The shooting took place during the climax of the Mr. Crime tale in the summer of 2012. Blaze was trying to help Davey Mylar (Mr. Crime) escape police capture, but Doubleup intervened. Doubleup (not knowing Mylar was Mr. Crime) wanted to use Mylar as a human shield to help him escape. In response, Blaze shot Doubleup and fled with Mylar, after which Doubleup swore he would “get those two!”Here’s the sequence. It begins with the Sunday 7/1/12 strip. The shooting takes place on 7/6/12, and Doubleup vows revenge on 7/7/12:Does anyone know when, how, and IF Doubleup and Blaze resolved all this, even to the point of becoming somewhat friendly with one another? I can’t find it anywhere in the strip, though it’s possible I just missed it. I know both characters were eventually forced into the Blackheart organization and in a sense have to work together, but it’s hard to understand how they can be friendly with each other on any level after those events in 2012. Doubleup just doesn’t seem like the forgiving type.Maybe all of this is simply a continuity error, which happens. Not intending this as an attack, just genuinely trying to understand how to resolve this.???
