Foreshadowing, I suspect, so habla Inglés, and quickly now. Of course, 3 old men playing dominoes in the park aren’t a real threat to anybody, but I’m guessing we’re about to get a civics lesson.
Please pardon my ignorance, but what is the gentleman in the green shirt saying? I looked up “Que gusto verle” but get results for “verte”. Is this a different form of a verb (I assume verb here) or is this a spelling error in the strip (hey, that happens sometimes: “Jump Start” had ‘costumers’ instead of ‘customers’). Just asking. And thank you.
Yes, so sad that they’ve never shown Sergio speaking English. And that people assume that people who move to their childhood primary language when in groups of people who speak it don’t belong in the country. Wergio made sure his kids are fluent in English. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to visit Latin America and be as lost as the average non-Hispanic American, especially if visiting relatives.
Black friend once told me semi-funny story – he was driving to work and saw a fellow breaking into a store. He called 911 and the dispatch asked, “Does he look black or Hispanic?” (We all know he couldn’t be an Anglo….)
What do you call a man (like Sergio or his friends) who speaks two languages?Bi-lingual.What do you call a man who speaks THREE languages?TRI-lingual.What do you call a man who speaks only one language? An American.

It shows that Hispanic doesn’t have a specific look. That’s why Sergio is scratching his head. I doubt they are going to be suspects.
