so sweet :)

We used to have one of those little slides; our girls loved it & they (and their stuffies) would play on it for what seemed like hours. They’ve since outgrown it, so we gave it to our next-door neighbors, where there are a lot of little kids (it’s an apartment building; our girls are the only children in our building). We all – even the girls – love to see the littles enjoying that slide.

Mimi’s Lines-“Don’t push him if he’s scared, Daddy!”-“Maybe you should side down with him!”

This is so sweet. Have we ever seen Mimi’s mother? Is he a single daddy?

a good one. usually i find mimi’s speech defect and story line too sickeningly sweet, but now and again, it’s actually just right. either that or i needed the sugar rush. take your pick

When this strip originally came out, Pasquale and his cousin – Clem? Not sure it was him- but they were the age of Mimi and spoke like her, but the original author made is so hard to translate what they said that you had to say it out loud to get it. Rose or the other child’s mom would translate in the last frame, but translating it before reading that was part of the fun.

Now try it with a Scottish accent.

I’d like to see Corky try to come down that slide!
