I have two students that don’t have a clue. On of each sex. She weight 285 lbs. and he’s a skinny little runt. I’ve tried. At least she tries to cover hers with a decent perfume. He’s just plain DIRTY. Hers could be related to diet.

Not many cartoonists could pull off a week-long story arc about BO. Including this one. I’m a huge fan, but this isn’t the strip’s finest hour.

If he thinks showering is hot, maybe he should try doing it.

GT seems to be using this pointless story arc about B.O. to mock some stereotypes, such as the myth that orientals don’t stink because they don’t sweat.

If he’s suggesting that we his readers are no more aware of our stereotypical thinking than we are of our B.O., then GT is being grossly hypocritical, since all his satire depends on easily recognizable stereotypes. You could even say that each cartoon has its peculiar B.O. or pungency. That’s why it will attract some and repel others.

Well…

The thing is, today’s student stinker has an oriental look about him.

Concentration (as in preparations for midterms or finals) often leads to time dilation. Minutes seem like days, weeks like seconds. Depends on the reaction to the situation. Food, hygiene, sex, anything else, takes a back-row seat to the prime focus.

I don’t think the story is about BO as much as college life – everyone knows what college students put themselves thru everywhere the week of cramming for finals. No time for bathing!!
