Good morning. I have not seen any Annie references and characters in other strips as we have seen in tribute when strips end or an artist passes away. Has anyone seen any Annie in other strips this week as we countdown to the end of Annie in this format?

I really like what Maeder and especially Slampyak have done with this strip. I know this will be heresy to the old timers, but I never really warmed up to the classic strip.

The modern strip was really well done. Really sorry to see this one end.

Well, this is certainly a turn of events. So much for the rumor that the very last panel of the Sunday strip would be a shot of the boat with people saying they were ready to chuck her overboard to the sharks. Strange as it may seem, The Butcher taking Annie with him to the interior of Guatemala isn’t that far-fetched. It also happened in the old days from time to time, especially with a nasty like Axel. All he wanted to do was kill the child yet never quite seemed to get around to it. He even tossed Annie overboard once with Sandy but she escaped that fate due to Punjab’s teaching her Houdini tricks.

3 days left of Little Annie, Annie was taken into the jungle, oh what to do? And then there were 2.

So sad to see the purported end of Little Orphan Annie. Being 60, it has been with me for QUITE some time. It’s like losing a very old and very close friend.

Think they’ll rerun Annie as Peanuts has done?
