Almost everything tastes like chicken except maybe the stuff you get from KFC.
In survival school they told us everything tastes like chicken except bugs. Bugs taste like peanut butter. I’ve had snake (the only thing I could catch) soup and it was delicious. Of course when you’re hungry, almost anything will taste good.
I remember somebody telling me some unspeakable meat tastes like chicken when offering me some. I told them that if it tastes like chicken I’ll just stick with chicken. I forget what it was that I was offered, but given that I’ve eaten squirrel, porcupine, bear, frogs legs, and more, it must have been really, really gross for me to refuse it…
Looking at:http://www.quora.com/Why-and-when-did-the-saying-Tastes-like-chicken-start.Makes one think of the associated question,Exactly HOW DOES chicken taste? The flavor depends on how it is cooked, what spices are used, what it was fed before slaughter..Barbecued chicken doesn’t taste like fried chicken which doesn’t taste like chicken and rice which doesn’t taste like Chinese peanut butter chicken, et cetera..Anyhoo, per

The earliest known documentation of the phrase “Tastes like chicken” is in The Log of Christopher Columbus, describing the first time he and his group tried eating a serpent.
“The people eat them and the meat is white and tastes like chicken.”"
Chicken has been the most commonly eaten meat, even among lower classes, for hundreds of years. It is perhaps one of the most universally recognized flavors, and generally well-liked. It has similar protein configurations to many other meats, and therefore likely has similar flavors. The frequent use of spices in chicken recipes furthermore makes the flavor of “chicken” a variety of different flavors, making it possible for chicken to taste like pretty much anything.

Does anyone know how the “tastes like chicken” meme started? I suspect it was some movie I never saw but I was not able to find proof.

Every new meat is touted as “tasting like chicken.” Perhaps the chicken is the root of all evolution.

White meat chicken tastes like…
…well, it pretty much has no taste at all!
Now, legs, thighs, wings; i.e., dark meat chicken, that’s different! IMHO of course.
