RING Caller ID Unknown Well, there goes the ol blood pressure. Hello? Hello? Hello! Don't hang up! This is an important call about your... How many is that? Sixteen! If we get four more robocalls before a real phone call, I'm canceling our landline.

but just think, if it wasn’t for those robocalls you would have nothing to do

They still have a land line? I’d pull out the mailbox if I could get away with it, but I think the mailwoman would just dump the junk mail on our porch.

Larry looks pleased about the prospect.

This website makes available, free of charge, an app that blocks robocalls for VOIP telephone users. I am in no way connected to the site or its owner, or the software developer. I recently read about his program, so searched and found the website. https://www.nomorobo.com/

Liverlips, I use nomorobo, and it works well. But you still get one ring before it cuts them off.If the ID says unknown, don’t answer.

There’s no law that says you have to answer the phone. I only answer the names/numbers I know. The rest go to voice mail.

Sadly not every carrier has the service – we have a message machine we use to screen our calls

Love the one that says “NOT IN USE”. If it’s not in use then how the hell did you call me?

I get way more robocalls on my cell than our landline.

Funny ’cause in most disasters when the cell towers go dark, land lines carry on. Pay phones, if you can still find them are the most reliable in a crisis. I get enough telemarketers on my cell although screaming f—- —f in their ear has a degree of satisfaction.

He should be documenting the robocalls so he can cash in on them! http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2015/07/time_warner_cables_153_robocal.html

Remember the National “Do Not Call” registry? Another federal program and law that B.O’s adminstration does not enforce.

Whenever you get a robocall, add them to you contact list and put the ringer on silent. Then you never get another call from that number. I named them all “z” so they are at the bottom of the contact list, so you never actually see them. I still get about 25 calls a week, but they go directly to missed calls, and I just delete them whenever the mood hits me.

Try nomorobo.com. Keeps the calls from getting through.

He didn’t say that he’s getting rid of the land line, he said he was chainging the #. By changing the # the robocallers have to search for the new one before they can make more calls.

They’ve started calling cell phones too.

I was put on a heart monitor while my kids were teens. Turns out you have to phone in the results once a day to the doctor over a landline, it can’t be a cellphone. Also, landlines transmit voices much better than any cellphone, so if you have any hearing issue, even with hearing aids a landline is far better—and better still if both parties are using one.

I once answered the phone and there was silence. I said “Hello?” twice and some rude woman on the other end said “Goodbye”That’s about 30 seconds of my life I’ll never get back!xxx

My cordless lets me store 30 blocked numbers, and my Cox account lets me store 30 blocked numbers. When both are full I erase them and start over because robocallers change numbers pretty often and the old ones are no longer in use.
