Is Throwback Thursday a device to give cartoonists a day off? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t begrudge them the day off (I get seven of them every week), I’m just wondering.
1, Congratulations on your retirement, hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
2. A lot of cartoonists have more than one project going at a time, including the authors of this strip. It could be a day off, but more likely than not it is an opportunity to start/finish/round out a different project they are working on.
I have really been enjoying the “Throwback Thursday” strips. They are also a nice reminder that, at least as far as fashion went, the 1970’s through 1990’s certainly WEREN’T the “good old days”! Of course I remember that not too many people really dressed so “fashionable” then (I think hairstyles were more obvious), and almost no one still dresses that way (do they?). I still dress somewhat like I did in college days (early 1970’s) but in my case it’s blue jeans, boots, and flannel shirts.

I THINK it is a current strip, just with a look back at what the characters would have been like in the past.
