One of my favorites is still “You put the lime in the coke , you nut!”(♪)…. – Followed by: “Stomp the catbox! Stomp the catbox!” (♪)… – And very closely followed by: “…I wanna ‘piece of data’….” (♪)
I think every generation of kids take widely known songs and change the lyrics. I can still sing the lyrics we had for the “McDonald’s Is Our kind of Place” jingle from the old commercials.
Song of the South , in which this song appeared, has been criticized for having racist elements, but ""Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" would seem to fit well here. This song, unlike the movie as a whole, has never fallen out of favor. Seehttp://www.slate.com/articles/arts/books/2013/01/song_of_the_south_disney_s_most_notorious_film_by_jason_sperbreviewed.html
This is, if I’m to believe the book anthologies, the THIRD time Armstrong has used this exact same gag—along with “Hang On, Snoopy” being sung by Marcy with Joe trying in vain to correct her.
